Abigail Lodge Care HomeConsett, County Durham
Abigail Lodge Care Home is dual registered, which enables us to provide care for older people in need of physical support, elderly residents with general nursing care requirements, and those with dementia, who need a combination of nursing and residential assistance.
Our home is extremely well equipped and tastefully decorated to provide a comfortable living environment for all our residents. We have four bright, spacious lounges and a large sensory garden, which has two furnished patios. Many residents enjoy spending time outside in the fresh air, and get a lot of pleasure watching the chickens and rabbits run about within our safe, secure garden.
All bedrooms at Abigail Lodge are en-suite and most offer excellent views of the garden and surrounding countryside. We encourage all residents to personalise their rooms with keepsakes, pictures and furniture and choose their own colour scheme to help them feel more at home.
Our friendly care team will welcome everyone to our delightful home with open arms, so you can be sure everyone is well looked after. From the moment a person arrives, they will feel like part of our family.
Every room in our lovely care home is equipped with Four Seasons’ standard features, including thermostatic radiators, smoke detectors, televisions and 24-hour call systems.
Lifestyle and Activities
Abigail Lodge has an inclusive activity programme, designed to keep every resident happy and fulfilled. Our dedicated activities co-ordinator ensures that all residents have something personally stimulating and enjoyable to look forward to. This may involve individual hobbies and interests, but we also make sure there are plenty of group activities to encourage social interaction. Our Dementia Unit enjoys a strong focus on life history, which helps our residents enormously.
Other activities include handicrafts, gardening, quizzes, concerts and day trips to local places of interest.
We’re very lucky that our chef has joined us from the renowned Mottram Hall Hotel. Every day, our menus are packed with nutritionally balanced meals that have been carefully prepared in our kitchen to provide the best combination of nutrition and flavour for our residents.
