Emberbrook is a wonderful place to live because the staff are very caring and they make you feel at home. I don’t feel there is any other home like it.

Our kitchen is a busy place, and we are grateful for all the good feedback we receive, about the meals we prepare, and especially about our home made cakes.

Emberbrook provides a variety of styles of care. Mole and Wandle House provide specialist Dementia Care, and were given recognition for their achievements through the PEARL award this year. The George Tickler Wing and Ditton House provide Frail Elderly Care, and each of the four units provide facilities for respite. Together with the Physiotherapy team we are able to support those en route home from hospital. Emberbrook is situated on a private estate off Giggs Hill Green in Thames Ditton, a pretty village on the London / Surrey boarder. It is comprised of four separate wings, each with its own complement of nursing, care and domestic staff. Each wing has its own dining room and living room, as well as a selection of smaller quite lounges for more intimate gatherings. There is a pamper room that is accessible to all, and a hairdressing salon in the main reception. There is a beautiful south facing garden to the rear of the building which contains a large aviary housing budgerigars. The heart of Thames Ditton village is a five minute stroll away, and there is a great selection of pubs to visit. The local library is 50 meters from Emberbrook, and some of our residents have joined the local cricket club, and watch the summer games out on Giggs Hill Green.
Lifestyle and Activities
Residents are encouraged to keep close links with the local community and we offer frequent trips to places of interest. There is a selection of activities for people to enjoy every day of the week, and we have a shop and even an internet café with access to email and skype for those residents with friends or family more far afield. We have entertainers and volunteers who visit the home regularly, and fetes and parties for significant events throughout the year. We are in the process of creating a vegetable garden for the more green fingered residents.
