Haddon House provides a comfortable and safe environment for the people living there and has developed a specialist service, based on modern principles, for looking after older people who suffer from dementia. Imaginative touches have been applied to the physical environment of the home and these are aimed at providing stimulation as well as assisting people to find their way around. The staff team are a committed group who work well together to provide a good standard of care for people living in the home. In particular staff have a good understanding of the needs of people with dementia and were observed to be patient, relaxed and professional in the way they communicate and help people retain dignity and individuality.

Thank you so much for helping us celebrate our golden wedding yesterday. The room was beautifully decorated and thank you also for the flowers and champagne!
I feel that my mother is being cared for very well indeed and I am full of admiration for the professional and caring way in which you look after her. Well done all of you.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to the management and staff of Haddon House for the care and attention given to mum during her 12 year stay at the home
You say to yourself have I made the right decision when placing the one you love in care? The answer is yes I did. Thank you all so much for your kindness, care and devotion to my husband.
Since I started at Haddon House a year ago, I have really felt part of the team, there is a lovely atmosphere, the residents and their families are involved in their care, and the residents are cared for as individuals. If my mum or dad had dementia, I would not hesitate to bring them here. Haddon House is the place to go if you are looking to work, or to reside

We have a dedicated Personal Activities Leader who provides stimulating and enjoyable activities that the residents can look forward to. These may be group activities, or individual hobbies and interests. The varied and interesting programme includes handicrafts, quizzes, trips out to local places, gardening, baking, reading groups, reminiscence, etc. We also have a regular film show and monthly fish and chip night from the local take away. We also invite a variety of entertainers in, ranging from singers, musicians, comedians, and pantomime acts and also put on seasonal events such as a Valentine’s Day lunch, Mothers Day and St Patrick’s Day celebrations. For residents who are no longer able to attend church services, we work closely with the local vicar and priest who attend the home regularly.
