Uplands is a purpose built home providing specialist dementia care through our Pearl Specialised Dementia Service.

All of our rooms are for single occupancy, and all rooms are en suite.

Uplands is situated in the suburbs of Streatham and is within easy reach of public transport and the motorway network.

Location

From A23 Southbound
Follow signs to Streatham and South Croydon. At Streatham High Street turn left at the traffic lights onto Streatham Common Road (A214 towards Norwood and Crystal Palace). Leigham Court Road is the sixth turning on the left at the traffic lights and the home is on the left just after the junction with Normington Close.

From A23 Northbound
Follow signs to Streatham and Brixton. Pass Streatham Common on the right and at the traffic lights at the end of the Common, turn right into Streatham Common Road (A214 towards Norwood and Crystal Palace), then left into Leigham Court Road at the traffic lights. The home is on the left just after the junction with Normington Close.

Facilities

Dementia care is provided at our home within the Pearl Specialised Dementia Service. This means that the environment has been developed and adapted to the needs of residents with dementia and we can offer as much independence and stimulation as possible within safe boundaries.

The expertise of our caring team is to recognise and enable each resident to continue to do the things they enjoy for as long as they can continue to do so. Our programme is based on the theories of ‘person centred care' and all of our care plans are tailored around the residents' needs and capabilities. These are adjusted to provide additional support over time.

Every aspect of the home contributes to the quality of daily life for residents. Layout and decoration are used to enable residents to exercise choice, help orientation and to provide interest and stimulation.
