Four Seasons Health Care partners with Age Concern

Four Seasons care home in New Herrington has teamed up with Age Concern Sunderland (ACS), the largest charity working with and for older people, to offer a unique day service to local residents with assessed needs.

Based in The Mews Care Home, transport is available to pick up and drop off anyone who attends and members enjoy a host of activities such as darts, dominos and bingo, while hot and tasty meals and refreshments are served up daily in the home's cosy dining room.

Liz McCaffery, Manager at The Mews, said: "It's great that we've joined forces with ACS, the new venture is proving really popular and we already have nearly 40 people using the service. The social interaction between the residents and all of our new guests has been great, and there's so much going on now that it's created a real buzz around the place."

Alan Hodgson, 76, attends The Mews twice a week and commented: "The day service is very good and if I didn't go I wouldn't get across the doors. I love to play dominos with other members and the meals are excellent. I really look forward to going."

Age Concern Sunderland exists to promote the well-being of all older people throughout the City of Sunderland, improve their quality of life and help them maintain independence. The day service operates from Monday to Friday.

The Mews Care Home, owned and operated by Four Seasons Health Care, provides the perfect partnership to Age Concern as one of the leading independent healthcare providers in the UK.
