Granby Celebrates Completion of Refurbishment Project
Residents and staff at The Granby Court care home complex in Harrogate are celebrating the completion of a £150,000 refurbishment programme.
The complex, which incorporates Granby Extended Care Unit, Granby Residential Care Home and Granby Rose Specialist Dementia Unit, provides residential care and specialist accommodation for up to 114 residents, alongside 19 warden controlled apartments based at the site.
The three individual care units have each been given a make-over, including new furnishings, carpeting and fittings, as part of a £150,000 refurbishment project.
To mark the completion of the upgrade, Geoff Westmore, Chairman of Four Seasons Health Care, along with Kevin Roberts, the newly appointed Strategy Director, paid a visit to Granby Court to meet the enthusiastic care teams and to take a tour of the specialist facilities on offer.
The Granby Road complex, formerly the site of the Granby Hotel, was converted in to a care facility in 1996 and taken over by Four Seasons Health Care in 2003.
Geoff said: "I was delighted to visit The Granby and to see it in all its glory after the refurbishment. I was particular impressed with the Granby Rose and level of care the unit is providing for those with dementia. Part of the refurbishment has been to provide reminiscence pictures throughout the building that tie-in with special reminiscence-themed rooms and activities - an important element of our specialist dementia care.
