Sharon has today been absolutely brilliant and a great credit to her profession, Four Seasons, and to all of her fellow staff at Evedale in Coventry, by using her skills, training & experience to comfort and help my mother of nearly 80 years go through the potentially difficult process of having her last four sometimes painful teeth taken out in one at the local dentist! My mother , sadly suffers from advanced dementia so every step of this difficult process from leaving her home, travelling, sitting in the dentists chair, taking injections, waiting, having each tooth extracted etc etc can be an extremely stressful, difficult & confusing process but Sharon managed the whole process so well from start to finish including afterwards. In her Four Seasons uniform both the dentist, nursing staff and other patients were extremely impressed with her attitude and total professionalism which raised the profile of her home in such a positive way locally. A patient ( couple) in the waiting area even asked me for details of the home for a relative posibly seeking care of such quality and understanding. Sharon will probably be embarrassed by this nomination but my mother ( if she could) and I cannot let this outstanding and beyond call of duty service go without some recognition. - Joseph McNally

I think she deserves this award in recognition for all her dedication and hard work, and for keeping the centre so clean. Sharon takes great pride in her work, and nothing but the highest standard is acceptable to her. - caron conroy

This is a long overdue nomination. Whilst my Dad was still living at home, he frequently went for respite. He'd been to five different homes and when the time came for him to go into a home he chose Harbour View in a heartbeat. His sister had been there when it first opened too, and many of the staff are still there. The home is as good as it gets, the position is wonderful, overlooking the harbour at Whitehaven, the staff are caring and very many go an extra mile. They treat the residents as individuals and actually care for them. The team is very ably led by Gillian McAllister. The ambience, the rooms, outlook everything are exceptionally pleasant. My Mam had a stroke, 5 months after Dad went into Harbour View and joined him there from hospital. They had 9 weeks together before he died in August 2006. They'd been married 60 years. The staff were wonderful when Dad was dying and he died there, as he wished, not in hospital. They were marvellous with us all, allowing myself, sister and brother to stay round the clock the last few days; as well as looking after both Dad and Mam. Mam has had a stroke which affects her speech, it's not always easy but we know she's happy as she enjoys giving hugs to 'The Wimmin' as she calls them. You never think your parents will end up in a home, but then you never know what's around the corner. I can't praise Harbour View highly enough and would recommend it to anyone. - Hazel Block
Marieta joined us as a Care Assistant in March '09 and in that short time she has really impressed us with her quality of care and devotion to duty. As a resident in the Kingfisher Residential Unit, I have personally appreciated her consistent efforts to support me and enable me to overcome difficulties which require a very imaginative and sensitive approach. For example, in spare moments, she has taught me a bit of her language, Tagalog, which exercises my brain again!! I found showering a challenge at one stage but her methods have helped to gradually restore my confidence. Marieta is astute and capable, eager to understand our needs, remember our preferences and take an interest in our lives. As well as showing kindness and her willingness to help us, she has a warm personality with a gentle, modest sense of humour. We know we can trust her and confide in her – personal qualities of the utmost importance. On behalf of all my fellow residents, I thank you, Marieta, and wish you every success for the future. “Magaling” – excellent! Well done. - John Verity

Recently when Dad was so very ill, Eneias told my brother and I, that when he finished his shifts he goes back to my Dad’s room, and together they sing Dad’s favourite hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ - money can’t buy that! Sally was my dads named nurse. She would go above and beyond what was expected of her to make sure my dad was getting the best care he deserved. Sally is the most beautiful person, she is devoted to caring for the residents. She would bring a smile to both the residents and their families with her laughter, singing and just generally being the caring person that she is. If i could nominate Sally for a knighthood i would as she deserves that and so much more. Sally always made us feel we didn't need to worry as our loved one was in her care and she treated him just as if it was her own loved one. Sally made sure that my dad was comfortable right up to his death almost two weeks ago. She would make sure that we were always made aware with a phone call if she had any concerns for my dad. If she had to contact the Dr, she would then phone us immediately after to inform us. I just wish that you could actually make Sally aware of this nomination as she deserves to be praised and appreciated and all the staff at Evedale should know what a treasure Sally is. Sally THANK YOU for looking after my dad and for looking after us. Thank you for being a part of our lives, we will miss not seeing you and the hugs you gave us when we were upset. You are one in a million and by far the very best nurse Evedale has and ever will have had. You made us feel like you were part of our family and we appreciated that. You knew how to handle my dad and would know exactly how to keep him calm. Dementia is a very cruel illness, the long goodbye they call it, it certainly is but you were there with us every step of the way and that meant so much to all of us. It’s really very hard to tell in only a few words how someone is unique and special. I met that person three and half years ago when I came from Poland and started work in Ashcroft Care home. I remember as if it were today the first time when I saw Lynda. She made me feel so welcome in my new workplace. From that day I‘ve been treated with nothing else but full respect. From the first day I was fully supported as a worker and as a person. My family is indebtted to Lynda for her help with my education and for arranging my time off duty to have a chance to enjoy my kids and have a chance to socialise with my wife and to simply care for us. To be perfectly honest there are so many things I would like to say to her, the list is so long. I know that Lynda is already nominated for how well she’s running Ashcroft Care Home. I would like to nominate my home manager for the good and warm person she is. For her passion for work which is radiating to all staff, for all her love giving to residents for so many years already, for many hours of hard work with a smile on her face, for always having time for me, for good words ,for huge effort to make everything absolutely perfect at Ashcroft ,for being there for people who need help and doing it the best it can be done. I feel really lucky to have chance work with Lynda and be part of care team under her management . I admire her perfectionism and good heart. - Artur Wawrzyniak
My aunt has been receiving nursing care in Guthrie court since September 2008 and sadly passed away there last week. She had been seriously ill the entire time she was in Guthrie Court and I am writing this now in the hope that the staff who cared for her are given due praise. I visited my aunt on several occasions and have been stunned by the excellent care and attention to every detail , I have observed at Guthrie Court. As visitors we felt truly welcome in fact once we were there we did not feel in any rush to leave even though the circumstances were uncomfortable. We could see that all the residents were given the best possible treatment at all times. I have some experience of care homes through my family and my job and have never come across a care home with everything one could expect - Guthrie Court , on the other hand has everything. The utmost cleanliness, absolute care for all residents, a warm welcome for visitors, incredible, sensitive and unobtrusive attention, in fact, true devotion to the people in their care. Sincere and Grateful thanks to Sue, Jennifer, Guru, Bhiri, Vivi, Gifti, Jason, Stacey, and everyone who works so hard at Guthrie Court giving the most excellent care. - LORNA MOORE

I know this is not a carer I'm nominating but I think we should look further than carers because at the end of the day everybody looks after people at our homes. Denise is one of them and she'll do anything that anybody asks of her if she can. Denise will try and never say no!!!! Even if you ask her for something special or different she will do it for you if she can. Denise is also a person that you can always go to if you have a problem she is always ready to listen to you and to give you some advice if needed. I guess all I am trying to say is Denise you are doing a wonderfull job and I think I speak for everybody from the cedars when I say that you are just like a mother to some people and to others you are even more than that!!!! - peggy collen
Patricia is a kind and caring person who goes out of her way to ensure her residents are active and engaged, at my mother's recent 85th birthday celebrations at the home Patricia decorated one of lounges for us and came in to work on her day off to ensure that everything went smoothly, she is a real asset to your company. We could not be happier with the team at Uplands led by Arthur Tanare. - John Kelleher
Lynda heads what must be one of the best(if not the best) Care Home in the UK. All the staff, without exception, from those in the kitchen, cleaners, domestic workers, secretary and all the nursing staff from the most junior to the most senior must be among the most caring people my family have ever encountered. My mother, until her recent death, was resident in Ashcroft for two years, during that time she has been shown the utmost respect, care and love that could be given. Our thanks as a family go out to ALL the staff for everything they have done to make my mother's last years so comfortable. - Carole Joynes

Jane is such a special person and works really hard alongside the staff who are all friendly and caring and are always there with a helping hand. - anonymous anonymous
It is not an easy thing to have to put your mother into a home and is accompanied with many difficult emotions and decisions. When in September last year my mother had to go into a home, it was important to my family that we found the best we could to care for her. I had been recommended Guthrie Court by a few different people. Two of whom had had relatives in Guthrie and could not praise it highly enough. Another who knew someone who was in there. Also health care professionals although not allowed to recommend any care homes, did say to me when I told them that we had chosen Guthrie Court, that it was a very good care home. As we went to look at the home, immediately I felt that Carolyn McNiven really was an excellent manager and made us feel very positive about Guthrie and the care that could be offered. The receptionist Joyce was so helpful and cheerful and had such a welcoming manner. I felt that the place was right for my Mum from the start. We were introduced to the staff, the care assistants, and anyone who was around at that first visit. Everyone was so friendly and looked happy in their work. The environment in which Guthrie is in also helps greatly. It is in beautiful grounds and the building itself is spacious and beautifully decorated and very clean. My Mum moved in ,in September and she has improved greatly since her move. The staff are all excellent, they are so friendly and helpful. The care assistants could not do enough for my her. They are so kind, gentle and caring towards her. It is difficult to pick anyone person out specifically for a rock award as they are all so good in different ways. Guru who has worked at Guthrie for sometime now is so cheery, helpful, he is always smiling. Stacey and Jason who have recently started working in Guthrie have been lovely to my Mum as well. Bhiri has a lovely caring, gentle nature. Sue the nurse in charge and Vivi are very helpful and very pleasant. Everyone from the kitchen staff, to the managment are all very attentive and sympathetic to the individual needs of the residents. Grace who deals with the financial aspects of things is also very friendly and helpful and efficient. Everytime I go in I feel that the atmosphere of the home cheers me up. The staff do an invaluable job and I do hope that this is recognised by Fourseasons Healthcare. Due to the staff at Guthrie Court I know my Mum is getting the best care possible and this takes a great weight of our minds. - Sheila Divine
She is hard working, punctual and really caring. She organises and plans earlier that everything is done in time and the kitchen is always left clean and tidy. She has a commendable personality and gets on well with management and staff. She is always there to help and never complains. She is the most dedicated and committed member of staff I have seen and I am nominating her for a ROCK award.
- JOLY SHIBUA big thank you to all the Management and Staff at Guthrie Court for all the excellent kindness and care shown to my Mother-in-Law, who moved into the home last year. In her short time since moving in she has shown a great improvement and this was made possible by all the care and kindness shown to her, and also for making her move to the home all that more easier. - Ian Divine

Katrina is a true heroine. She goes about her work quietly and efficiently, soothing and calming as she goes. Nothing is too much trouble for her, even though I have seen her being pulled in all directions by bells ringing and residents to attend to. No one escapes her tender care. If someone needs extra special attention, Katrina is there for them As a regular visitor to Kingfisher House over the past six years (both my mother and my aunt were residents) I have been so grateful on so many occasions to Katrina, and particularly in the last few weeks of my Aunt’s life when she required the most sensitive care and delicate handling. It was a distressing time in some respects, but made bearable by Katrina’s compassionate care, sensitivity and professional expertise. As a family, we are truly grateful to Katrina for contributing so much to our Aunt’s happiness and well-being and would like to nominate her for the Recognition of Care and Kindness award. - Susan Homer
The first thing that strikes you about Lesley is her lovely warm sense of humour. She’s like a ray of sunshine going about her business, and it reflects on residents, staff and visitors. It’s hard to catch her without a smile on her face, however busy or hard-pressed she is. More than that though, she is a carer who really cares and gives 150% to her work. My Aunt, DC was a resident at Kingfisher House for almost six years, until August 2008 when she sadly died aged 93 after a short illness. My mother, JD had also been a resident for a shorter period in 2003/4. I came to know Kingfisher House well during those times, and realised what a pillar of strength Lesley was. She was able to form special relationships with the residents, and I saw first-hand how much this meant to my Aunt. Her face used to light up when Lesley came into the room and she would give her a big hug. However pleasant the surroundings, it’s the people who make a home a real Home. Lesley is one of those people. Not only is she caring and compassionate, she is scrupulously professional, exceeds the call of duty, always readily available, and I and my family can’t thank her enough for her constant and reliable help, and we would like to nominate her for the Recognition of care and Kindness award. - Susan Homer
For being the most caring and devoted person, not just providing a full list of activities but also producing the best food I have ever tasted. - matt chan
Ever since Elaine joined Springfield nearly ten years ago shes has worked tirelessly to ensure all the residents enjoy good food on a daily basis, covering when people are ill, and working countless Christmas days over the past few years, Elaine goes above and beyond the call of duty, she attends work on some of her days off to help out and make sure the residents have everything they need. Being a cook all of her working life she strives for quality and perfection time after time. She always makes brilliant birthday cakes for the residents, (which always brings a smile to their faces!) -she sometimes spends her own time outside of work to make them extra special. Her kindness and devotion to the residents has no bounds, nothing ever seems too much trouble. Even after her husband fought a long hard battle with cancer she still gave 110% to her work and battled through personal bereavment to ensure the residents were well looked after. Yet everyone who knows her will say the same - that no matter what the situation she never complains and always does her best to help people. Its people like Elaine that dont get enough recognition in this world and it would be nice for Elaine to have a little thankyou from all of those whom depend so greatly on her. - Samantha Croft
For the past 18 months Kevin has always gone that extra mile in caring not only for my mother but also recognition that we are so far away. Every one who are relatives or friends of the elderly in the dementia unit we have met have stated that Kevin is a special person to and for their relative. He is absolutely vital to the running of that unit. - Sandra Crashley

The kindest person I have ever met. He brings his wonderful humanity, great ideas and musical talents to the job. I have never met such a caring person in all my life. The people who live at rosemount absolutely adore him and rightly so! (iIdont even think he knows how special he is) I must say, however, that he is one of many dedicated and caring people working at rosemount. - wendy muzlanova
Lynne is a credit to Field View and to the company, she shows enormous respect towards her residents and her staff. Lynne has always said that the residents of Field View are an extension of her family, this shows in the care and love that she promotes within the home. I think lynne deserves some recognition as she has been ill over the past few months, and has not let this effect her dedication towards field view and her residents, she really is an amazing lady and someone to look up. - kay littledyke

Maria is an excellent mentor and inspiration to all her staff and loved by residents and their families. - Louise Wilson

Jenny has worked hard and tirelessly as a kitchen assistant, since Evedale opened over ten years ago. Even when the going gets tough she maintains a calmness and dignity so often lacking in todays highly charged society.Although she does not have direct contact with residents, her gentle and kind nature makes her an ideal candidate for a (rock) award. - syletha clark
My mother Sarah Davey entered Harbour View Lodge 2001. From that time until her death in September 2008 mother received the most loving care and attention at all times with the utmost dignity. Gillian was always there for us and if there were any problems then they were always dealt with professionally and with care. I must say that you should regard Gillian as a very valuable resource as she has left a deep and lasting impression with us. I wish I could nominate other members of staff who were all wonderful. However, as Gillian represents the home please regard her as our nomination for the special work she performs at Harbour View. Gillian also wrote a wonderful letter to myself and my wife when mother died which was of great comfort to us all and was read out by the vicar at the funeral service. We will always recommend Harbour View Lodge. - Peter Davey
Since Lenny has become the manager at Limavady his professional attitudes have changed the entire atsmophere in the home. Staff and residents alike admire and respect him. His presence is a godsend - Tommy Gordon
This young man is an asset to your company and to Admiral Court. Any request was never a problem, he was a solid rock and a familiar face practically every day we were there. Compassion, love and dedication to not just our gran-mother, in the last weeks of her life, but to each and every person in the building whether staff, resident or relative. John even went above and beyond the call of duty and turned out to our grandmothers funeral. He is not just a credit to your company but to all care workers doing this difficult and highly demanding job. - Anonymous

She is truely one of lifes little angels. Thank you Angela. - Pauline Gibson

My father has just spent nearly 5 months at Springfields and I wish to nominate Angela and Lilly as outstanding members of staff. They both have a particular understanding of the special care needed for someone with Dementia/Parkinson's and demonstrate exceptional willingness "to go that extra mile". This was not only appreciated by us but also by my father (who, sadly, now requires nursing care). Thanks are due to all members of staff but these 2 were truly exceptional and first class. - Valerie Smith
My Grandfather is currently at the home and is usually a great handfull, Simone helps him, makes him laugh and is fantastic to our family. Just want to say a big thank you to her. Sue always went the extra mile and nothing was too much trouble. Please make sure you thank Sue and her staff personally from us. - Rex and Rachel Harrisan
My mother Doris King was a resident at Hallcroft for 3 years until she died on 6th May 2008. During her time at Hallcroft she was cared for and loved by the staff as if she were their own mother. She enjoyed her life at the home and referred to Hallcroft as her "home". I cannot express enough my thanks and gratitude during the last months of her life for the kindess, love and care she received from all the staff and carers. I felt they went far beyond the bounds of "only doing my job" attitude, they loved and cared for my mother to the very end. Joy Murphy is the Manager and she is a credit to your company, you are very fortunate to have her. She is kind, caring and knows how to get the best out of her staff. I would like to nominate all the staff at Millbrow for the outstanding care they gave to my mother (Bessie Walsh) I will never forget how happy she was to be there and how much kindness they gave to her in her short say. - Malcolm Walsh
I can't say that I want to nominate one person, as all the staff at Millbrow did a fantastic job in looking after my nan. She recently passed away and wasn't in the home for a great deal of time but she loved it there. The staff really helped to make my nan feel special while she was terminally ill. The staff at Millbrow also did a great job of welcoming me and my family every time we went there. I had a poor opinion on care homes and was worried when we were told that nan had to go into one, but now I understand that not all care homes are the same and that there are some people out there who deserve recognition for the work they do - Millbrow staff are among these people and I would like to say a big thank you to all of them for taking such good care of my nan Mrs Walsh. - Kate Walsh

No words can express the care and consideration of the staff at Mill Brow, they are angels in disguise. Every member of staff looked after my mum as if she were their own mum. I will always remember what they did for her and nothing was ever too much trouble for any of them, many things went above and beyond the call of duty and for that I will never in a 1000 years be able to thank them enough for everything they did for mum and I wish there was some way to give them the reward they truly deserve, as these few words do not come near the thanks and praise they should receive, thank you all once again for everything. - Gillian Semourson

I would like to nominate this lass, I'm sure she is a member of staff or office worker and I would like to nominate her simply for her kindness and understanding towards the residents. As a relative of one resident I was on a visit one day and saw Johann walking along and another old resident was dancing about the corridors and Johann was asked if she wanted to dance, she never thought about it and just dropped everything and joined in bringing a little laughter, fun and joy to the residents, so well done Johann and thanks, I'm sure there are many like you out there. Keep up the good work! - Ritchie Bibby

I believe Elizabeth deserves this special recognition because she has shown a tremendously high standard of care and kindness towards my grandfather, Walter Blair, during his stay at Campsie View. I would like to nominate Sharon as a very kind and caring person. She is a very good motivator and seems to get the best out of all the patients with her help, craft and good humour. Another nurse that I have noticed is a lady called Cathy who has been very good and helpful in keeping a high morale among nurses and residents. Thanks to all. - Michael Swan
The staff there work tirelessly under great strain but on the whole never grumble, for which they should be recognised. - Dan Spry
He has only been caring for a matter of months but he understands the needs of those he cares for. At only 20, he knows what his dementia clients need. - Dan Spry
Pleasant, hardwork, always smiles. - David Mcmanus
Thank you all so much for the care my father, Ron Jones, has received during his two week stay with you. We could not have asked for any better care for him. Please pass on a big thankyou to all the staff concerned. - Cheryl Birch
My mother, Ruby Woodworth, was a resident in Heron Court between the 14th May and 9th July this year when she passed away. From her first day she was stimulated, felt secure and cared for and responded well to her new surroundings; stating that she had “found her heaven on earth”. We were frequent visitors and were made very welcome. The facilities and standards are very high and the professionalism and caring attitude from the cheerful staff made a very difficult time a very special time too. No one was too busy to listen or discuss my mothers care which made us feel included. She made a large dent in your food bill! She learnt how to laugh again and at nearly 90yrs old found an excuse to get ‘dressed up’. So many of your staff formed a very personal relationship with us that it would be wrong to single out any individuals. - Peter & Christina Woodworth
Jacquline is a nurse who cares very deeply about the residents in her care nothing is to much trouble for her. Even going without meal breaks if a resident needs her attention. She also has a terminaly ill son which she has nursed. She is constantly on her feet making sure everyone is ok - John
My reason for nominating Afton is she always has a smile and she has a great passion for her work. she sticks out because of her kind nature. If anyone deserves a recognition of kindness award, it is her. - A Barr
Betty is a kind and helpful person she always does her upmost to make sure everyone is happy and is fulfilled, she deserves this award. She works hard and the home would not be the same without her. Fantastic lady by far - Kelly Proctor
I wish to nominate the whole team who look after my sister. They are always extremely caring and supportive at all times, especially recently through more difficult times. I would like to thank them all, particularly G Borinaga for staying with her during her time in hospital, she was amazing. Thanks very much!!! - A Gaunt
Malcolm is a nurse in the home and although he is so busy he always makes time for me. He knows I am a poor eater and that I prefer to stay in my room so he always pops in and checks that I have eaten. He is just so caring and I would love for him to win an award. - Joyce Duffield
Lisa will go out of her way to assist residents, staff and visitors. Lisa is always caring and polite, a professional yet approachable. She's a credit to Four Seasons Health Care and the care sector. Lisa deserves a ROCK award. - Anonymous
She has showed initative and caring in her role as cook at the home, Eithne has impemented moulded meals for dysphagic patients. Moulded meals provide a visually appealing alternative to pureed dinners and this in turn encourages the patient to eat, improving their nutritional status and also giving them their dignity and respect back in one more very important area. - Lesley Beatte
Althoug Lisa is only 19 I would honestly think she had worked in Rosebank for many years. Lisa is so dedicated to her job she doesn't see the residents as residents but as her friends. Lisa has done many training skills to gain qualifications that enabels her to do her job aswell as she does. - Siahnon Conway
He is well liked and always has a smile, he works hard to make new residents settle in to new enviroments. He is a pleasure to know. - Anonymous
From me and my wife, I would like to nominate this young lady for her kindness when we needed her help out of her normal care job and I personaly would like to thank her. She has been very caring and helped us more than words can say from a disabled gentle man and wife many thanks Kate and good luck for the future - Michael Harvey
My mother recently resided at Greerville and could not have been happier. I haven't come across a more friendly and pleasant bunch of people. My mothers last few weeks were spent in a caring environment and stress free. I'm sure she would not have received better treatment elsewhere. - C Bennett
They treated my dad with respect and dignity(also with the other residents), even though we know that he is quite demanding. They made his last days happy and comfortable. This team of staff is really a big asset to your company. - S Anderson
My elderly Aunt received some of the best care I've seen at Greerville. They made her feel at home right away and showed great kindness throughout her stay there. - Alan Christie
Anne-Marie is one of the friendliest and most down to earth nurses I have met. The care which all staff, but particularly Anne-Marie, have shown Katy Bowers has been touching. Going to visit my Grandmother has been a real pleasure at Davenport and the advice and help of Anne-Marie has been great. - Jonathan Judah
After visiting a friend at Dove Court, I was extremely impressed with the outstanding care and commitment shown by Philip, compared with what I have seen in many care homes over several years. His patience, professionalism and overall attitude is to be admired and could well be used as a barometer for others to emulate. - Sandra Mcloughlin
We would like to inform you of our debt of gratitude to the management and staff of Westview following the death of Fred Egglestone, a long term resident. We feel that the staff handled this sad affair with exemplary dignity, care and superb attention to detail. During the last 6 weeks of his life, Uncle Fred needed additional attention and he received this from all of the staff and this happened without any promting from his family. The Manager, Beryl Anderson, showed professional skills mixed with tenderness and compassion throughout this period and afterwards in organising the events on the day of the funeral. We were pleased to find one organisation which shines out amongst others and will be eternally grateful for the way in which this whole event was handled. - Mr G Armstrong
I would like to nominate Claire for the ROCK Award as she is a very caring, polite and helpful person. If I ever have a problem she always goes out of her way to help, she's one in a million. - Clair Mcdonald
I nominate this person because she walks 8 miles in total to care for the elderly residents, even with a bad back. Also the residents like her a lot, she has a bond with them. Well done Lou - keep up the good work. - Anonymous
All staff at Greerville that I have come into contact with have been very courteous and attentive. They all show great pride in their work and I don't believe they recieve the recognition they all deserve. It's such a difficult and demanding job they all do yet you are always greeted with a warm smile when you enter the care home. Keep up the good work. - Anonymous
Denise, manager of Westroyd Lodge and my mum Rosa's appointed carer - Sandra, were both kind, caring and supportive during Rosa's recent illness and eventual death at the home on 2nd June 2007. They did everything possible to ensure that Rosa was clean, comfortable and retained some dignity during her last days. I really feel we struck gold when we found this home for Rosa after my dad died in 2004. Rosa was very happy there and always treated well. They supported me and kept me informed and I cannot thank them enough for all their efforts during this difficult time (including Denise coming in during the middle of the night between two long day shifts to sit with Rosa). They both deserve to be recognised for their outstanding and caring attitude. - Dena Layzell
Tracey is a senior carer on the unit where my mother resides. She works really hard and she always seems to be there! Whenever I ring to enquire how my mother is, she rolls off information about her health without having to look around or keeping me waiting. Whenever my mother has been ill, she informs me and keeps me updated. She has a genuine caring personality and always treats my mum with respect. - Rose Lane
This lady and her staff always go the extra mile. My sister Janice has been there for a few years now and is very happy. My mother gets to visit when she can but phones every week and the staff are so responsive it keeps her at ease. Keep up the good work you all deserve medals. - Denis Wood
She just is a genuinely nice young lady. Nothing is too much trouble for her. She goes out and talks to the residents, I think it's lovely. - E Harrington
Giving my mother such wonderful care and for showing so much kindness. - Dorothy Pugh
My husband Brian spent the last month of his life at Ashcroft; he had been in hospital for the previous 18 months. Brian was very well looked after. The nursing care (Leah, Agnes and Joy) was excellent; they and their support staff became our friends. I visited Brian most days and never saw any of the residents treated with anything less than patience, kindness and understanding, even though the staff were usually so busy. During the last week of Brians life, the care and support we recieved were of the highest standard. The staff so obviously cared about Brian - he was not just a patient. We are pleased that after a long painful illness, Brian ended his days in the comfort and care of Ashcroft. Lynda deserves many congratulations on her management of the home. - Pamela Hesketh
It is quite difficult to put into words the way you feel when your mother needs more help than you can provide. My mum has been at Charlton Park for over 2 years and quite frankly, it's a miracle she is alive at all but for the love and care she receives from the staff. Sister Rose and her team do a fantastic job. They look after mum's every needs and they look after me too (I live in France and I dont visit as much as I wish I could). It was my 50th birthday this weekend and nurse Julia remembered and rang me so that mum could say happy birthday!. It made my day!!! Thank you never seems enough to say. - Susan Graney
I think Shirley should be given a golden heart, when my mother died she was our rock and shoulder to cry on. She is and always will be a proper carer, thank you Shirley - Anonymous
Jan is a senior carer and is a credit to the home, her care and concern for both clients and relatives alike is amazing, her personality, compassion and concern shines through. Nothing is too much trouble and her experience in care outshines many of the senior staff. I have known the above since my mother became a resident 4 years ago and have at all times been impressed with Jan's work. Good carers are extremely hard to come by, it eases my mind with regard to my mothers care and well being to know that she also is made to feel like an individual and not just a number. - Miss P J Close
I would like to take this opportunity to thank care assistant Jane for the immense support she gives her clients and her excellent communication skills. She's never too busy for her clients no matter the demands or requests. How she kindly offers relatives cups of teas, how she will persuade and patiently wait upon a client when their appetite is down. She has a heart of gold. Jane may god bless you on the good work you are doing. - Susan Simms
Living the other side of the world in Australia, I recently visited mum and was saddened at her condition whilst in hospital and was so thrilled to find Westroyd House and the terrific staff there, especially Yvonne and also Sheila, Paul and Laura and several others I cannot remember by name. The love and care shown to mum has been wonderful and so re-assuring as I was able to come back to Australia knowing she is in the very best of care - thank you Yvonne. - Caroline Creek
My mother lived at Westroyd House for 8 years and I have to say they were very special years and she was treated with respect and dignity from all the staff. I would like to nominate Yvonne the manager because she looked after mum from the beginning to the end and when mum was at the end of her life she needed nursing care, Yvonne dedicated her time to care for mum and ensured the staff were trained to offer mum the best. I have never witnessed such dedication in a person and will be forever in Yvonnes debt for her love and compassion she showed mum and the family. Good luck in your career. - Jaculine Cooke
They all have given love support and understanding towards all service users in the home. My mother has had to move to a new home due to Marton Road closing. The care staff have been fully supportive and very helpful. I wish all the staff my very best wishes and good luck in your new jobs. You all will be saddly missed god bless you all, thank you. - B Hall
After a long period in hospital, my mother came to Westroyd House very weak, under cared for due to lack of goverment funding for the NHS and quite ill! Yvonne stayed with my mother for 24 hrs nursing her through her worst period of sickness. Nearly 3 months later, my mother is nearly back to her normal happy self, albeit she requires care. Without doubt, this is only due to Yvonne and her staff, all of whom display total dedication, professionalism and kindness. A big thanks to you all. - Peter Stephens
I find it difficult to nominate any individual for the ROCK award as any person is only as good as the team around them and the team at Westroyd has a refreshing attitude to the residents led by Yvonne Savage and supported by Sheila Mitchell. If however a person has to be nominated then I would nominate Paul. Paul is one of the care workers assigned to my mother Joan, during my visits she is always telling me how caring he is and will always have time for a chat and a joke (which there seems to be many) besides this Paul acts with care and treats the residents with respectand dignity. - Barry Stephens
Yvonne is a manager of Westroyd House and she gave not only her heart to the job she also gave her life to the job. I don't remember a day when she wasn't in work helping the care staff and residents she's got the biggest heart in a world and she is hard as a rock. - Pawel Krzywdzinski
Doreen is very caring and understanding and always willing to help others and very hard working. - Anonymous
I think the staff on these unit are fantastic and work tirelessly to ensure the residents are cared for and feel comfortable in their surroundings. Nothing is too much trouble and the level of care is outstanding, they are a credit to FSHC and I hope their great efforts are both appreciated and rewarded. That is why, with the utmost pleasure, I have not got the slightest hesitation in nominating all these staff keep up your excellent work and well done for making every effort to improve the lives of all your elderly patients. - Anonymous
Gemma has made Hamilton House her second home, she's always there and busy when I pop in and takes real interest in the residents real needs. Gemma is always very friendly and welcoming, easy to talk to regarding my relatives stay with the home. All in all I find all Hamilton House younger staff very approachable, very hard working and show their caring and considerate selves without second thought. Much appreciation to all of you! - anonymous
I write as a resident of Gotton Manor, to recommend Tom (carer) as a competent, kind carer, who treats one like a human being. In my opinion he stands out for excellence. - Hilary Cope Morgan
When your parents are in good health and your family life is vibrant, loving, caring, happy and safe, you can never envisage putting your parents into the care of someone who is not family or even more unthinkable someone who does not and has not met them. Having travelled from Nottingham to see poppa at Leagreen was a very daunting thought and I was not looking forward to seeing him. Maggie was the first person I met, her whole being was one of compassion, genuineness, total honesty, care and most important was the dignity that was shown to all in her care, allowing them to be free spirited, content, respected and unconditionally loved. She is a natural leader and all that meet her are indeed priviledged, needless to say my subsequent journeys were happier ones. Poppa Jim passed away some two weeks ago and I can only end by saying thank you for caring, for your warmth, your truly remarkable patience and understanding and for ensuring that his last days were peaceful. - June Summers
Mary always has a sunny nature, a song and a whistle. The residents love to see her and take great enjoyment from the dances and jokes she makes with them. Mary has been there at Lansdowne for a good long time, in and around 14 years I believe. She is a credit to the company. - James Joyce
We, the family, would like to thank Fiona and also Ann and Michelle for the care, love and attention that they have given to our mother Jan Campbell. Sadly Jan passed away recently. Fiona was Jan's key worker and has done a great job, Jan loved her. We cannot forget the other staff involved with Jan, Ann and Michelle and many others, I wish I could remember all their names, they made our mother's stay in Campsie View very nice. Thank you very much to all the staff, you will not be forgotten. Thankyou for making the last few years of our mothers life comfortable. - Kate Campbell
I think Lisa is a very kind and helpful young girl and any time I visit the home she is very polite and goes out her way to help me. I think she is one in a million and she deserves recognition for it. - Graham Peterson
Lynn doesn't mind what job shes given to do, she shops and posts for me and is always cheerful. She works to perfection and is a shining example to all. - Joan Hartman
Rose is the most kind, caring and loyal person anyone could wish to have care for them. Rose more often than not goes above and beyond the call of duty for the residents she cares for and nothing is too much trouble for such a wonderful lady. Rose is a rock. - Kevin Freeman
My mum was at Maple Lodge for just over 3 years and she recently died. Over the 3 years Sue has always been there for me, to chat to, have a cup of tea with, to listen to my complaints and just to be a friend. Knowing that she is in charge at Maple Lodge meant that I didn't have to worry about my mum, she made me confident that mum would be fine. Since mum died I still have contact with her and she has been so caring and thoughtful in my grief. She is the ultimate professional and a very nice person. - Helen Kemp
I have never met a more professional, caring and understanding care assistant than Cath. Everyone who enters the building, whether visiting or residing is always made to feel welcome by her and she is a great inspiration to all members of staff at the home. If only all carers would take a leaf out of her book. - Anonymous
I call on a regular basis with clothes to sell to the residents and I'm always impressed by the care and consideration of the staff. There's always someone available to help the residents and always with a smile. The cleanliness of the home is 100% and the atmosphere of the staff and especially the home manager is exceptional, Four Seasons should be proud. - Mike Benson

My whole family want to say a massive thank you to nurse Phil (sorry, dont know his surname) at Stanton Lodge. He is so very caring, friendly and knowledgable and he has a wonderful sense of humour. He has looked after my dad, Frank Hill, even better than we could have hoped for. He has also been such a good friend and support to my mum, Irene, who until recently, visited dad nearly every day. On behalf of the Hill family - thank you so much Phil - you've made a difference! - Howard Hill

Fiona is a very dedicated person to her job. She loves taking care of elderly people, whatever their walk of life, always having their best interests at heart. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. She goes out of her way to make sure things run smoothly, with residents needs being the first and foremost concern. - Julia Keil
Betty goes the extra mile. She is not very academic and is struggling with her training for NVQ 3 but my mum loved her almost as much as we do. Now mum has passed away but thank you Betty! - Mrs Crannage
My sister and I would like to thank all the staff who are taking such care of our mum. We both live at a distance and it makes a huge difference in difficult circumstances to arrive and find mum so content. In spite of her illness she is still smiling, I'm positive this is because she feels safe and respected. This care and concern touches the whole family. - Judith Jones
All the staff are kind and caring towards all residents and relatives. - Laura Brown
My mother had stayed at Gowrie House for five years. During her stay at the care home Afton had shown us that nothing was too much trouble and was very happy to assist in any task to make my mothers stay more comfotable. Afton has a heart of gold even though she has her own health problems she is always happy and willing to help. Your company is very lucky to have such an amazing employee. - Mary Shaw

Peter & Kate Campbell would like to nominate Fiona Differ. Our mother and mother in law have resided there for over 2 years. Fiona has been Jan's key worker for most of that period, sadly Jan is not too well right now. Fiona has a great rappor with jan, who is a very timid little lady. We sense that Jan trusts Fiona and feels comfortable with her, which in turn makes the family more at ease. Fiona has a lot of fun in her and can make Jan laugh, we sense that Fiona is very fond of Jan. We go home with peace of mind. Nurses are born, not made and Fiona is one of those nurses, she has left us with a lot of nice memories due to the care she has given to Jan. Thank you Fiona. - Kate Campbell
Never have I seen such an extraordinary woman bring customer reassurance to a care home. The notion of a care home can be difficult for relatives. I have witnessed Miss Lazovic go out of her way to make Lansdowne Care Home one of the best providers of nursing care. Not only are the staff aware of the importance of care, I feel Miss Lazovic has stressed the importance and philosophy of care to the care staff at Lansodowne and has observed the needs of todays potential service users. It is very rare for a home manager to be so dedicated to her line of work. I only commend what I witness and I have witnessed too much to let Miss Lazovic pass by a nomination, hence this recognition of care staff for Natasha has been forwarded. - Renal Patel
Gill is the most caring considerate person I know, she always puts the residents first. Gill gives 100 percent to Woodlea from organising daily activities to producing shows for the residents. She will do anything to help anyone. She brightens everyones day and lights up the room when she enters it. She can turn her hand to any task and nothing is too much trouble. Gill is truly a very special lady. - Amanda Lees
Thank you for all that you did for dad over the last seven years and for coming to the celebration of his life. As the humanist said to us after the service - the first 74 years were independent and superb with the last seven being loved and cared for "Hilton style" but sadly without his beloved car. - Lovat Hannah

Staying at Granville Lodge is just like staying at home with your parents, this is due to the loving caring staff that work there. Well done!!!!!! - Jade Smith

She does more for the residents than you could ever imagine, from doing the activities to care work and working in the kitchen. She puts her heart and soul into the residents and in her mind and her heart nothing is ever too much or beneath her. She will sit with the residents and help them, even when she should be going home to her own family and coming in on weekend to do shows, bingo and other functions she is a star. - Anonymous
Ian is the youngest member of the care team, he always takes time with the residents and their families. His own grandfather was a resident until he passed away in August, he was very close to his grandad has had a bit of a hard time of late because of his death but his dedication has never faulted. He calls in to see residents even when he is off work. He has always been punctual for work is only off work on his designated days. I may be biased with my comments as he is my son but I think he gives his commitment to the job 100% and I think it may give he some encouragment if he got some recognition for his work. - Nancy Galley
Although I'm singling out Angela that does not mean the rest of the staff do not need a nomination. They are all caring or they would not be working in the facility. Angela does all the activities with the residents but she has always got a smile and a bit of encouragement, making sure that they are ok. She has time to give each one individual attention and always acknowledges family members, giving them an update. In 18 months I have never seen her in a bad mood, looking miserable or being antisocial. She has bought some initiatives for the benefit of all residents but particularly with dementia patients. Thank you - it makes my role as next of kin and caring daughter that much easier knowing mum is cared for so well. - Carol & Pat Watson-Webb
A brilliant caring home run by Mick and the seniors Pat, Gracie, Ollie and in particular Sara who could not have done more for my mother. The care team are all like friends who I will miss nearly as much as her. Bob the builder, the cleaning, laundry and cooking staff are all so friendly. Thanks to Rapheal/Annetta for the portrait. Well done all. - Martin Hine
A wonderful compassionate, quiet, caring and skilful nurse who cared for my mother in her final days of illness in such a way it could have been her own mother she was caring for. At the same time she was dealing with all the other patients with the same compassion and patience. she offered the family support, space and the dignity to grieve. We cannot speak too highly of her. - Marion Newitt
This charge nurse is an asset to your company!! He shows so much sincere consideration for his patients, and when he and his team are on duty the atmosphere is so bright and cheerful. He is more than dedicated to his job, and treats his patients with the dignity they deserve. It is comforting to know that there are people like Carlos in this profession, especially when you are living abroad. - Ann Mcneil
I am nominating Wendy, her commitment to her position, Head Cook, is without a doubt, fantastic. Wendy is always available to work and is always enthusiastic about cooking for the residents, ensuring all their dietry requirements are met. Wendy has worked for the last 3 Christmas's & New Year, wanting the residents to enjoy this time with a traditional home cooked meal. Wendy always works Bank Holidays and weekends and never makes a fuss of doing so. I think Four Seasons should be aware of how important Wendy is, even though she is a small cog in a big wheel. I admire her attitude and comittment to her position, Thank you. - Victoria Pallett
I would like to nominate Moira for her warmth and sense of humour towards the residents in the home, nothing is too much trouble for her and she always has time to chat to family members. - Anonymous

Fiona demonstrates unconditional professionalism in her duty to others. As a carer of many years, she brings her expertise to every situation and uses it to the advantage and benefit of those in her care. She truly deserves to be nominated as she is one of the best and most selfless people I have ever entrusted a family member to. Her service users are always immaculately dressed, well groomed and their every need catered for. She is a credit to any institution and we all thank her from the bottom of our hearts for her continuing kindness. - Anonymous

My husband Professor Tom Douglas has been in Buchanan House for 18 months. I had been visiting care homes for over 30 years from our Church in Milngavie. When Tom had to go into a Care Home I said 'It must be Buchanan House' - I have not regretted that decision. On entering Buchanan House the the atmosphere is clean, fresh and friendly. Tom has a pleasant room with his own pictures and photographs on the wall and is encouraged to make it like home. Care is excellent and meals are good and varied - prepared by an in-house chef. Laundry and cleaning is to a high standard. Tom's grandchildren are always welcome and the staff take a real interest in his family and friends. Activities are organised to suit the Residents - those that are mobile and those that are wheel-chair bound. Parties are a regular feature - every Resident is given a Birthday Party to which we are all welcome. My husband is lucky with family and friends visiting him but some of the Residents have few visitors and the staff do a great job with them. I have never regretted my choice of Buchanan House. - Rachel Douglas
Since my mother entered Station Court she has been treated with dignity and respect by all staff. They have been most alert to her needs and advise by telephone of any problems or difficulties encountered. When visiting we have always been made most welcome and made to feel part of the Station Court family. They are a great asset to Four Seasons and we wish them well in the future. - Eileen Macdonald

A year ago this month my mother, Else Buck passed away at Ringshill, having been a resident for less than 2 months. She moved in because she was too ill to continue to live at home and we made the decision with great trepidation. But we needn't have worried. The staff were kind and caring and supported my mother in living the remainder of her life the way she wanted. Despite having known my mother only a short time the staff had clearly got close to her and were not shy in showing their feelings which was a great comfort to me at the time and still fills me with gratitude. At the most difficult time they were there for my mother and for me, real people with real feelings and a positive, supportive attitude to their job, people who do their job for all the right reasons. They deserve a formal recognition from their employer. - Nete Wood

Laurie Montgomery, the kitchen manager with a heart of gold who truly cares for the residents at Euxton Park. Laurie's culinary skills are excellent, she knows no bounds and will at the drop of a hat conjure up several alternatives to the planned menu choice for residents who don't fancy the food on offer because they are having an off day. Laurie knows all the residents by name and their likes and dislikes. Her Christmas buffets for residents and relatives are the talk of Euxton, as are her impromptu barbeques and ice-cream cornets served in the garden during the summer. Laurie is a real gem! - Janet Miller

Can I comment on what excellent care is given to the residents at Cumbernauld. The staff have a very complex caseload and have to put up with a lot of difficult and potentially dangerous situations. They require every encouragement to continue showing the personal care they give to both residents and their families. My life has been made so much easier because they care and take the time to reasure and advise me on how to cope with a relative with dementia.
