Welcome to Willow Lodge Care Home
Willow Lodge in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, provides general residential care, general nursing, continuing health care and palliative care.
We share a site with Willow Court which provides residential and dementia care, nursing and dementia care, and continuing health care with dementia. Between us, we can meet almost all residents' requirements.
Ours is a purpose-built property with garden, easily accessed by public transport, and near local shops if residents fancy a trip out.
Two floors each house 24 residents in single bedrooms, all en-suite, and many refurbished to a high standard. The redecorated home has fitted vinyl in the corridors; and there are seats throughout the building to help make residents and their visitors comfortable.
Life at Willow Lodge Care Home
Our full-time activities coordinator works to produce pastimes, diversions and outings suited to all residents' tastes and abilities. People in the local community are also encouraged to take part in activities within the home.
Willow Lodge has a cinema room where residents love to watch movies on the big screen.
We have a newly decorated hair salon and our hairdresser Lynda Dawson spends every Thursday with us. For a small price residents can choose to wash, blow dry, cut and/or perm their hair as often as they like.
Happy with the standard of the home.
I feel very content here and can't ask for more.
It's great, come and see for yourself!

Four Seasons Health Care were well represented at the finals of the British Journal of Nursing Awards earlier this month with four colleagues flying the flag for the organisation.
Gary Cousins was a runner up in the Infection Control and Prevention Nurse category, Colin Sheeran was a runner up in the Mental Health Nurse of the Year category and Joanne Strain was a runner up in the British Nurse of the Year category.
However, further plaudits need to be given to Alana Irvine who was crowned the Nutritional Nurse of the Year, after being nominated by colleagues for her continued commitment to residents’ nutrition.
Alana has been part of the driving force behind Four Seasons nutrition innovations to meet the varying needs of the people in our care. We are able to monitor residents’ nutritional needs, with technology that flags up weight loss, whether a resident has difficulty swallowing or needs assistance when eating or drinking to the care team.
Nutrition is something we take very seriously here at Four Seasons and Alana’s win recognises all of the hard work done across the board in this area.

The advances in technology have had a fantastic effect on the way people communicate. You no longer have to use ‘snail mail’ to get your messages to loved ones near and far. We can now send an email, text message or even video call.
Claire, a care assistant at Willow Lodge Care Home in Newcastle upon Tyne used this technology to cheer up one of her residents who was admitted to hospital.
Lindsay Johnson, Home Manager, explains: “When our resident was admitted to hospital, it didn’t take long before he was missing his friends and the care team at Willow Lodge. Claire assisted the resident in video calling everyone at the home using Face Time. This made a real difference to his stay in hospital as he was able to see all of us and we could reassure him. It was great for us to see his face too as while he was in hospital he was sorely missed in the home.
“This is one of the ways that the team here at Willow Lodge try and go above and beyond to provide special experiences and make a difference to the lives of people in their care. I’m extremely proud of my team for using all of the tools in their kit to help our residents.”
