Welcome to Clandeboye Care Home
You'll find Clandeboye Care Home in Bangor, County Down. Here our team of registered nurses and well trained, dedicated care assistants provides excellent 24-hour care.
To suit a range of needs, we offer different levels of care, from residential nursing for people with early-stage dementia, to end-of life-care. As a person's care requirements change, they can move between our two dedicated suites rather than making a disruptive transfer elsewhere.
People living here love our courtyards, where they can take the fresh air, help water the plants, and feed the birds. Our home has a circular design, so a resident can walk continuously without getting lost.
Indoors, each suite has two lounges with flat-screen TVs. There's also a quiet lounge, leading to a courtyard - a lovely place to spend quality time with loved ones, perhaps celebrating a birthday.
We love residents to personalise their rooms, and to choose their own colour schemes to make these spaces more homely.
Life at Clandeboye Care Home
We have two dedicated activities coordinators who ensure that all residents have something stimulating and enjoyable to look forward to and that interests them. This may be individual hobbies or interests but we also make sure there are plenty of group activities as well.
Our varied, interesting programme includes handcrafts, gardening, quizzes, concerts, baking, women's pampering and a gentleman's morning. We also celebrate calendar events like St Patrick's Day and Valentine's Day.
Our nutritionally balanced menus are carefully prepared by our chef. Menus are displayed on a daily basis but alternatives are always on offer.
Clandeboye care home is a beautiful home. My mother has been there now for quite a few years and she is totally dependant on the staff for all her needs. The staff are always so friendly, cheerful and happy to help in any way possible. I can talk with the staff at any time during the day, there is nothing they won't do. This also includes other staff in the home i.e. Domestic, kitchen and maintanence man. My mother is very well looked after and I cannot fault the staff for anything. When mom starts to show signs of cough they are on the ball immediately and she see the GP as most of the times she developed a chest infection. But the nurses are very quick at getting this sorted. When I go on holiday I can go away with piece of mind knowing mom is well cared for.
I just can't praise the manager and her staff enough.
I am very satisfied with the care and support my husband gets. He is very well looked after and always clean and tidy. The staff are willing to help and are always near by if needed. My husband is well settled and is in a safe environment which gives me peace of mind at all times. The manager is always willing to deal with any issues that may arise and always keeps me informed on his behaviour and always has his best interest coming first.

I am very pleased with the standard of care provided for my father at Clandeboye Care Home. The staff are extremely friendly, professional and happy to answer any questions raised and offer information on my fathers general well-being. Activities are well planned and special efforts are made to celebrate birthdays whilst ensuring families feel welcome to call at any time.
I am very content with the nursing care that my wife is receiving at Clandeboye. I was also impressed with the promptness with which the relocation from another care home care carried out.
My mother was patience at Clandeboye Care home for over seven years, in that time her life was made comfortable. She was always clean and tidy. The home has improved a lot since the manager took over, it is bright and cheerful, the staff are all very caring and it is one big family, also the food is good. I lost my mother in September she died in her own room with nursing staff looking after her. I could not have asked for more care for her.
I have found Clandeboye Care Home to be really excellent in the caring of my wife for the past two years. Staff are excellent very caring, home is kept very clean by the cleaners. Manageress has always kept my family informed of what is happening.
My mother has been in this care home for 3+ years. I can not express my gratitude enough for the wonderful care, love and attention she receives at the hands of all the staff without exception. She is always clean and well dressed. She is content and well fed. She can feed herself but I have observed others in the home who need to be fed and this is done with patience and care.
Our families experience of this care home has been very good. The staff are very helpful and keep regular contact with me if there has been any issues with my father e.g If doctor has been called any medication issued etc. We have no complaints about my fathers care, he is always well cared for and kept clean. We have visited at different times of day hand have never found is to be any different.

Four Seasons Health Care were finalists in nine categories at this year’s LaingBuisson Awards, and at the awards ceremony on Wednesday 15th November, the organisation was awarded with a well-deserved award.
The LaingBuisson Awards recognise and celebrate industry excellence and innovative services in the public, private and third sectors.
Four Seasons Health Care scooped the award in the ‘Nursing Practice’ category in recognition of the innovative approach to the advancement of nursing knowledge and nursing education within the care home sector.
Our Care Home Nursing Journal (CNJ) along with our individual Nursing Twitter channel (@FSHCNurses) won plaudits with the judges for being totally unique within the care sector.
Furthermore, there was a recognition of the achievements of the front-line nurses who have written articles, presented at conferences, won scholarships and been finalists at numerous nursing awards in the past 12 months. Again, these achievements are unique within the care sector.
Joanne Strain, Head of Nursing, said: “This is a terrific result for Four Seasons Health Care and real recognition of our growing influence amongst care home nurses in the UK. This is only the start of our journey and I want to dedicate this award to all our tremendous nurses across the FSHC family”.
Carol Cousins, Northern Ireland Managing Director, also commented on the award success. She said: “This award is recognition for inspirational nurse leaders in creating the first clinical nursing journal in the independent care home sector – well done to all involved”.
While CNJ editorial board member, and Clinical Lead Nurse of Cameron House Care Home in Bury, Craig Priestley stated: “I’m so proud we won – the CNJ is one of the best learning resources we have for Four Seasons Nurses. It has shaped and improved nursing practice and helped to improve quality of life – well done to all involved in its production!”
If you’d like to take a look at the award winning journal, it’s available on the Four Seasons website in the publications area.
