Welcome to Dounemount Care Home
You'll find Dounemount Care Home in the old fishing community of Macduff, Aberdeenshire.
Here our trained team of care assistants and ancillary staff combines to provide a comfortable, safe and enjoyable environment for each person living here.
Care is planned and served according to need, and at different levels - permanent, respite, nursing and residential.
Our old property is full of interesting features and has been tastefully modernised and adapted to purpose. Our extensive gardens have been upgraded to provide more areas for residents to enjoy the fresh air. Inside, many rooms have lovely views towards the River Deveron.
Our newer annexe is purpose-built and offers comfortable en-suite rooms, mostly also with pleasing views.

Mum was always very happy at Dounemount and always appreciated the care you gave her with such good humour.
It brought me comfort to see that she had many occasions when she had fun, laughter and enjoyed life.
I just wanted to thank you and your staff team for the care and attention given to John in the short time he spent at Dounemount, we very much appreciate this.
The staff at Dounemount were always friendly and helpful. I know that she enjoyed her stay whilst she was able to be up. I was impressed with the standard of nursing care once she became unable to get up.

It is said that singing is good for the soul. This was certainly the case at Doulton Court Care Home in Sutton-on-Sea.
Residents, relatives and the care team all enjoyed an afternoon of singing as they brought out the karaoke machine.
Joyce Turner, Home Manage, said: “Everyone enjoyed themselves. We heard songs from Elvis, Dame Vera Lynn and many more. Some of the care team brought out some recent tracks from the like of Little Mix and Justin Bieber, but it’s safe to say the old songs were definitely the best.”

Colleagues from Laurels Lodge Care Home in Woodside, Havencourt Care Home in Stonehaven and Cumbrae Lodge Care Home in Irvine all came together to do a skydive, raising money for residents in their care and Alzheimer's Scotland.
Tracey Rhodes, Resident Experience Facilitator for Scotland, said: "Everyone was really excited for the jump. One of them hadn't even been in a plane, and they completed it, which was a huge accomplishment. They managed to raise £4,000 which is fantastic. Well done everyone."
