Ashgrove Care Home in Newry
A Warm Welcome to Ashgrove Care Home, Newry
You’ll find our lovely home, Ashgrove Care Home, in the bustling city of Newry. We are situated nearby to local shops, public transport, and in easy reach of the A1, making us easily accessible for visitors to pop-in for a chat.
We are a specialist nursing dementia care home, 24-hour care provided by specialist teams trained in the complexities of looking after those living with dementia, who may also have other long-term medical conditions.
Our spacious corridors are object-rich and colour coded, to help residents find their bearings. We have three private gardens available to residents, which are great places for residents and their loved ones to spend time together.
We are working hard to safely provide a range of visiting opportunities for family members and are following the Government’s pathway which sets out the various steps to gradually easing the restrictions on visiting. More information is available here.
Life at Ashgrove Care Home
"She was made to feel very welcome and the level of care and kindness she has received has been excellent. She has settled very well and takes an active part in the activities, especially singing and dancing!"
"My mother has been a resident here since 2018 and has always been treated with dignity, care and tenderness. Nothing is too much trouble for all the wonderful staff, who go above and beyond for their residents and the relatives. I would highly recommend Ashgrove Care Home."
"The staff are all very helpful and welcoming and Mum seems to have a very good relationship with them all. The food seems very appetising and Mum is eating well. Her room is cosy and warm and I think Mum feels safe there."
Safeguarding Our Residents
As a company we consider the safety of our residents a priority and we maintain a zero tolerance of abuse in any form.

Home Managers have delegated responsibilities from the FSHC Adult Safeguarding Champion on a daily basis for managing Safeguarding incidents. These roles are displayed in each home.
If you do have a concern you can immediately raise this with the home using our complaints process.
Alternatively, contact the Department of Health, Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) via the Health and Social Care Board website for further advice and regional guidance and for policy and protection information.
