Care Home Manager
Deepak has worked in the Health and Social sector for 22 years and has been with Murrayfield for over five years. Deepak won the Regional and National Winner Support Manager of the year in 2019 for his outstanding work.
Why did you decide to join Four Seasons Health Care?
I liked how passionate the company is about care and how the team works well together to reach a common goal. Also, I was impressed by their care values as I don’t have to compromise my values!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love meeting new people, caring for the residents and doing a lot of problem solving. It’s so fantastic feeling after a days’ work, knowing I was able to bring a smile to the faces of the people I care for.
What are your favourite hobbies and pastimes?
I love playing Bollywood music and keeping fit. I have completed several half marathons! I’m also a good swimmer, entertainer and motivator, so I like to put my skills to good use.
What do you feel are your biggest achievements, both in and outside of your career?
I was awarded Regional and National Winner Support Manager of the year in 2019. I was also one of the first Home Managers to bring Dementia Accreditation to a London Home in 2016. It was a very proud moment because the team was completely transformed! Their attitudes, passion and enthusiasm improved dramatically. I always feel proud of bringing that drive to people. I am a former navy officer and feel this experience has helped motivate me to get where I am today. I started my care home career working in the domestic team and eventually worked my way up to being a Home Manager.
What are your qualifications or experience?
I worked with elderly people predominantly nursing and nursing dementia. Also, I completed my Diploma in law and then changed career to care and completed the NVQ 2, 3, 4, RMA and completed an Honours degree in Health and social care. I’ve also completed my CIPD Level 5 three years ago.
What top tips would you give someone when looking for the right care home?
Look for a home, which is passionate about their care. It’s important not to just focus on the look of a home, such as if it looks like a luxury hotel, but instead focus on the caring aspect as this is vital.
