Welcome to Hillside Lodge Care Home
You'll find Hillside Lodge in Tweedmouth, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland.
Here care is based around each person's individual needs. Some residents have only modest care requirements and may simply enjoy living within a secure and caring environment; others need 24-hour nursing assistance.
Whatever the need, care is delivered with patience, kindness and understanding. Each resident's care plan is exclusive to them and aimed at promoting health and independence.
Ours is a purpose-built home within easy reach of shops, public transport, the A1 motorway, and other amenities. Many beauty spots are nearby and the town centre is just half a mile away.
Care is provided in a selection of rooms. All our bedrooms are singles with en-suites.
Life at Hillside Lodge Care Home
To meet the individual needs of each person staying with us, we organise one-to-one and group pastimes, diversions and entertainment - inside and outside the home.
Musicians regularly perform at Hillside Lodge, and we have a bagpipes player on Burns Night. Local children also visit us with their choir.
I find the staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, my father is well cared for and it is nice to know he is in a safe environment.
My papa was a client at Hillside Lodge for 12 years. I visited everyday even though I worked there. The staff were brilliant with my papa and he was always cared for and always enjoyed his food. The day he passed away was a day I will never forget as the staff were brilliant with me my mum and sister.
The home is mostly good. Carers are very good, some fair, they need more help. Food good at times, could be better. On the whole not too bad.
The staff are helpful and friendly. They help all the time and someone is always around to help. The staff always have a smile and the activity person keeps us busy. The food is very good. The management are also helpful and advise my god child how I am doing.
From my first visit to Hillside Lodge I have been impressed by the relaxed welcoming atmosphere (and the absence of unpleasant odours sometimes observed in care homes!) Without exception I have found the staff cheerful, friendly, polite and extremely competent. Residents are treated with kindness and dignity, without the patronising "talking down to a child" attitude sometimes adopted while addressing the elderly. Relatives are encouraged to share any concerns with the staff who are always approachable and willing to listen. I feel Hillside Lodge offers a very high standard.
Very happy with the home and I get excellent service from the staff.
Staff are very caring.
It's the best thing for me because I could not look after myself after my fall.
I enjoy having company and the staff are good.
I enjoy being here because I am very well looked after.

Four Seasons Health Care picked up three accolades on Tuesday 5th December 2017 at the Training Journal (TJ) Awards. Winning three categories meant that Four Seasons Health Care led the way, as they were the only organisation to win in multiple categories.
Who were the winners?
The Dementia Care Framework won the ‘Best Change Management Programme’, which is a fantastic achievement and further highlights the positive impact this is having on the lives of people living in Four Seasons homes with dementia.
The Judges commented: “We recognise Four Health Care work in the field of dementia care as innovative and thorough in its approach, being both effective and transformative. It had a bold vision that was well executed in a challenging environment.”
The Care Home Nursing Journal (CNJ), Four Seasons’ very own internal publication to develop nurse knowledge and share best practice won its category of ‘Best Organisational Development Programme'.
The Judges commented: “The design of this intervention, which on the surface appears very simple, completely meets the needs of the organisation and has had significant impact. A particular strength was that Four Seasons Health Care decided to make these resources freely available to anyone, making the impact even greater and is improving healthcare outcomes in care homes everywhere.”
Finally, Louise Morris the Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP) Lead won the main award of the night and was crowned the ‘Learning and Development Professional of the Year’.
The Judges stated: “Louise has had a transformational impact, not only on the learning and development of staff at Four Seasons Health Care, but also on the well-being of residents. Through a review of an existing programme, Louise drove design and improvement which has had significant benefits through improved care, staff practice and confidence and commitment to their work and professional development.”
Congratulations to everyone on this fantastic achievement!
