Welcome to Kingswood Lodge Care Centre
You'll find Kingswood Lodge in the village of Kingswood, on the outskirts of Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.
Here, our trained and caring staff help residents maintain good health, dignity and respect at all times. We provide residential care, nursing, day care, respite care, and end-of-life care.
Our home is a converted grade-II listed building retaining many of its original features. There's a recent extension, and the original farmhouse has been modernised to meet the needs of our elderly residents.
We have several communal areas. From our two main lounges, residents enjoy views of large mature gardens which are often visited by local wildlife including squirrels, rabbits and ducks. A gazebo offers residents shade in the summer months.
On each floor there are communal bathrooms with assisted baths. Most of our bedrooms are en-suites with garden views.
Life at Kingswood Lodge Care Centre
Our activities coordinator organises group and one-to-one goings-on which are tailored to the needs and interests of each person living here.
Art is a particularly popular pastime. Wotton Art Association comes to teach residents, whose creations are displayed as part of the Wotton Art Festival.
Meals are served restaurant-style in our large dining room. Tables are dressed with cloths and floral displays, and a menu provides plenty of choice at every sitting.
I feel at home when I visit my mother and feel confident that she is being well looked after, I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else.
The manager will always spend time taking to you and will help you with any problems you have. I would recommend the home to anyone
Excellent communications on progress and condition. The staff are very friendly and my mum is content.
I can walk in to the Home and feel comfortable. Everybody is always so friendly. It just feels like going to my mums house and I don't worry about going home.
The food is very good and if there is nothing on the menu I like an alternative is always offered. There are snacks and drinks available whenever I want one.
I am always informed of any changes to my mothers care or condition. Its gives me great peace of mind to know she is well cared for
The number and variety of activities provided by the home is excellent.
I don't know how to thank you all enough for the wonderful way in which you cared for my Dad. You made him feel special and loved. You made him happy.

Friday 16th June marked Care Home Open Day, a day that actively encourages people in the local community to pop into their local care home and find out what’s going on.
The theme for this year’s open day was friendship, and Four Seasons homes and their local community certainly forged some long lasting friendships with their local communities through a variety of different events.
The events included:
- The Prince’s Trust heading into Kingsmead Care Home in Swindon sprucing up the garden
- Ty Eirin Care Home in Port welcomed in local school children and councillors for a fun filled afternoon
- A Jazz band kept everyone entertained in Pontypridd at Ty Gwynno Care Home
- It was a more sleepy affair at Whittington Care Home in Chesterfield as the team turned up for work in the PJs before having lots of fun with residents, relatives and visitors to the home
- Music and dancing was definitely on the cards for many of our homes as Benarty View Care Home in Kelty, Gotton Manor Care Home in Taunton, Benholm Care Home in Forfar and Laurels Lodge Care Home in Woodside, all had musical entertainment (and an assortment of other activities) for their guests
- Campsie View Care Home in Glasgow had their own petting zoo for everyone to enjoy
- The Laurels Care Home in Hetton-le-Hole held a country and western themed day which everyone thoroughly enjoyed
- Jazz was the music of choice at The Cedars and Larches Care Home in Ilkeston’s festivities.
- Redwell Hills Care Home in Consett, remembered the friends they’d sadly lost and released some balloons with messages in their honour.
The photos you can see above are just a snap shot of what happened at our homes during Care Home Open Day. It’s great to see from the pictures that everyone had lots of fun.

Residents and relatives from Kingswood Lodge Care Home in Wotton-under-Edge were delighted when the team suggested a trip to their local pub for a spot of lunch.
The Lunch Club Gang all tucked into some tasty pub classics such as fish and chips, complete with a pudding and a tipple to wash it down with. They spent the rest of the afternoon nattering the afternoon away.
Jana Vaskova, Home Manager, told us: "Everyone had a lovely afternoon down at The Dinneywicks Inn enjoying some homely pub grub! The residents had a great time and were happy to celebrate with a little tipple before returning to the home and sharing what culinary delights they’d had with the rest of the team. They’re already planning their next outing."

Children from Kingswood Primary School surprised residents, relatives and the care team at Kingswood Lodge Care Centre in Wotton-under-Edge when they turned up as their favourite characters from books they’d been reading.
Jana Vaskova, Home Manager, said: “It’s always nice to see the older and younger generation interacting together. The residents and the children really enjoyed swapping stories with each other and saying who their favourite characters were and what they’d been up to on their adventures. The residents were still buzzing when the children left, so much so, that we’re arranging another visit around Easter time.”
