The theme for Care Home Open Day this year focuses on celebration and the Queen’s 90th birthday. Here at Four Seasons Health Care we thought it would be nice to share some of our resident’s stories who are also celebrating their 90th year!
Maple Lodge presents Alan Clark
Alan Clark turned 90 on the 28th April. He’s 7 days younger than Her Majesty. Born in Sunderland Alan is one of 4 children and has two brothers and one sister.
He met the Queen whilst he was working at Pyrex in Trimdon Street, when she came to Sunderland as part of her 25th Jubilee celebrations. He stood on the road with his colleagues and waved as she passed by. Alan remembers going to his sister-in-laws house as he didn’t have a TV of his own to watch the coronation.
Now a resident at Barrington Lodge Alan enjoys spending his days relaxing and joining in with the activities held in the home.
