A family has commended their local care home team for the care and kindness they showed to their loved one.
The team at Aspen Lodge Care Home in Skegness received a heartfelt thank you letter from the family, encouraging the home to keep doing what it was doing to keep residents happy.
The letter read:
“My mum Nell was recently a resident at Aspen Lodge until her passing. I would like to bring to the attention of your group management the following: everyone from Katrina, Lita, Barry, Sheila and Lee unfailingly extended to mum and I the utmost in professionalism, courtesy and care that I could have wished for. The carers who attended mum directly were patient and understanding, nothing was too much trouble. Even the chef always greeted me with a smile and a chat. Mum's dementia made her a challenging proposition as did my wishes for her care but nothing daunted them and I cannot thank them sufficiently.
“I would like to ensure that the 'powers that be' are made aware that at Aspen Lodge they have a team to be proud of and that the fact that I rarely leave anyone feedback is the truest indication of my depth of feeling. The sad memories I carry forward with me of mum's final days are accompanied by gratitude for the quality of her care.”
Katrina Morris, Home Manager at Aspen Lodge, said: “Receiving letters of praise like this makes me very proud as a home manager. The care sector can often get a bad reputation for one reason or another, so it’s really nice and heart-warming when we receive letters of praise. I want to thank the gentleman for his kind words they really do mean a lot.”
Jayne Clark, Regional Manager for Four Seasons homes in Lincolnshire and Humber, said: “This is a lovely gesture and a fantastic endorsement of the home. I want to echo Katrina’s thanks to the family for all they have done.”
