The team at Bannatyne Lodge Care Home in Peterlee pulled out all of the stops as part of their Care Home Open Day celebrations.
To start off the celebrations the local Mayor made a donation to the home, helping the team provide special resident experiences for everyone in the home.
Lynn Chapman, Home Manager, explained: “Everyone had a lovely time at our event. We had an entertainer in who kept everyone in high spirits. We had a very sophisticated afternoon tea session, and it’s safe to say that none of the homemade cakes and scones were left, they went down a treat.”
Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities. Events like the one at Bannatyne Lodge Care Home will help to create lasting links between the residents and their local community.
Care Home Open Day is all about showing people what care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of the local community, developing relationships across the generations.
