Betty Hynes celebrated turning 90 on Tuesday 28th June at the Cedars & Larches Care Home in Ilkeston.
Nina Wright, Care Home Manager, said: “Betty had a great day celebrating her birthday with her family and friends here at Cedars & Larches. Betty is a lovely lady and everyone at the home enjoys spending time with her. Happy birthday again Betty, it’s been a pleasure to celebrate your special day with you.”
Although Betty now resides in Cedars & Larches Care Home, her life started out quite differently. Born and bred in Ilkeston, Betty worked for West Hallam Ordnance Depot during the war. After the war, in 1947 Betty married Thomas Hynes in Ilkeston Catholic Church on a beautiful April day. They went on to have three sons; Paul, Patrick and Philip. Betty now enjoys spending time with her 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
For many years, Betty worked as an examiner at Rutlands Garment Factory before retiring in 1985, aged 59.
Everyone at Four Seasons wishes you many happy returns Betty.
