Friday 17th June saw Bishopsmead Lodge Care Home in Bristol celebrate Care Home Open Day with a musical interlude.
Francaise Miles, Home Manager, said: “Residents, the team and visitors alike all enjoyed the musical entertainment provided by a local singer. Everyone sang along at the top of their voices. They were so good, I’m contemplating getting us together and auditioning us as a choir for Britain’s Got Talent. Everyone also enjoyed the afternoon tea of cream cakes. A lovely day was had by all.”
Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities. Events like the one at Bishopsmead Lodge Care Home will help to create lasting links between the residents and their local community.
Care Home Open Day is all about showing people what care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of the local community, developing relationships across the generations.
