The lounge in Balmoral Care Home in Sheffield was transformed into a casino, as the home held its first ever ‘family casino night’.
Liza Taverner, Home Manager, said: “The casino night was a fantastic success. Everyone, residents, their families and the team alike really enjoyed themselves. Some people were luckier than others and ended the night better off than they started. I know everyone is excited for the next one.”
When the residents finished placing their bets, they created some artwork for the ‘Senses’ exhibition in Barnsley.
Liza Taverner explained, “The exhibition was all about the senses – sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch – and the residents created artwork to represent this.
“Once the exhibition was up and running, the residents went to view their masterpieces and see how other homes around Yorkshire had interpreted the brief. I’m very proud of all of our residents who took part in this exhibit. They worked hard and it’s great they got to see their work displayed in a proper exhibit.”
