Gran becomes guest of honour at wedding

Many of us dream about our wedding days. We have visions of how it’s going to go, who’s going to be there. The venue, the flowers, the dress, and ultimately the guest list.

One bride’s wish came true as her grandmother surprised her on her wedding day, watching her marry her soul mate.

Nina Wright, Home Manager at The Cedars and Larches Care Home in Ilkeston, explained: “The care team here at the Cedars and Larches wanted to be Joan, our resident’s fairy godmother. The team worked closely with Maureen, Joan’s daughter and arranged for her to be the surprise guest at her granddaughter’s wedding.

Joan had a lovely day, and received lots of compliments with regards to how lovely she looked. The bridal party and the rest of the family expressed their gratitude to the care team for helping to make the day special not only for Joan but for her granddaughter too.”

Here at Four Seasons we strive to provide special resident experiences for those in our care. This can depend on their likes and dislikes, along with any activity the resident has a burning desire to do. Enabling our residents to enjoy moments such as the one described above is one important aspect of the service our care team provides.

Are you looking for a care home in Ilkeston? The Cedars & Larches Care Home provides support for all types of care including residential care, nursing care, respite care and end of life/palliative care.
