Prince’s Trust pays Ilkeston residents a visit

Residents from the Cedars and Larches Care Home in Ilkeston welcomed some very special guests last week.

Three students completing the Prince’s Trust programme dropped by providing some new stories and activities for the residents to enjoy.

Lindsey Nelson, Personal Activities Lead, said: “The students came in because part of their course revolved around the theme of ‘supporting others’ and they wanted to help our residents. Team leader Brian and students Scott, Alex and Kye came in to chat and colour with them. They then provided our silver surfers with a few lessons on how to use the iPads and smart phones. Watching and listening to both generations swapping stories made it clear to see that everyone was enjoying the company and seeing new faces. We all had a lovely day and we’re all looking forward to welcoming the students back in the future.”
