Julie Fisher, a Care Assistant from The Cedars & Larches Care Home in Ilkeston wanted to do something special for the residents in her care.
So she set up a little 50p stall at the local market, selling bric-a-brac at to raise money for the special event.
Nina Wright, Home Manager, said: “All of Julie’s hard work paid off and on 20th November she held a surprise afternoon tea party for the residents. They were treated to a selection of sandwiches, hot and cold finger food, pizza, cake and lovely drinks. Everyone was catered for so nobody missed out. The residents then joined in with a lovely sing-a-long.
“I want to thank Julie for raising the money and helping to create this special experience for our residents. I also want to thank everyone who helped make the event a success.”
