There have been celebrations galore, as the smell of success has been in the air at St Mary’s Care Home in Crostwick.
The first of the celebrations began when a special birthday card arrived for resident Gladys, from Her Majesty the Queen. Gladys was celebrating her 100th birthday.
Gladys spent the day celebrating with her family and friends, at a birthday party, complete with Gladys’ favourite meal. Later on, Norma Stolworthy, the Personal Activities Leader organised some entertainment, which involved a lot of singing and dancing topped off with a glass of champagne.
Gladys said: “The celebration here has been absolutely wonderful. Thank you to everyone for making me feel so special. St Mary’s is now my home from home and everyone here has made me feel extremely welcome.”
The next celebration saw Home Manager Lee Ridgewell present Maintenance Man Ian Wells with an award. The regional award, commends Ian for his hard work and continued dedication to his role at St Mary’s.
Lee Ridgewell said, “Ian is our bank maintenance man and will do his utmost to help anyone in the Norfolk area. He is an asset to St Mary’s, offering support to people new to the home. No job is ever too big or too small, and no matter what, he always applies the same high standards to any task. Congratulations Ian on this award, it is definitely well deserved. I don’t know what St Mary’s would do without you.”
