Local Councillor inspects new unit

A brand new unit was officially unveiled at Craighead Care Home on Thursday 7th July, supplying more care options to those in the local community in Newport on Tay.

The new STAR Unit (Short term Assessment and Rehabilitation) opened in partnership with NHS Fife and Fife Council. On 28th July, Councillor Tim Brett visited the unit to give his support to the partnership and take a look at the Unit in action

Veronica Cherrett, Home Manager, said: “I want to thank Councillor Tim Brett for taking the time out to see the Unit. He has been very supportive and is one of the reasons we now have this new community partnership.

“I also want to thank the team for working every hour possible to ensure the Unit is up to the correct standards You’ve all gone above and beyond not only for our residents who are already with us, but those we welcome on a regular basis into the STAR section.

“I look forward to seeing this Unit going from strength to strength.”
