It’s not very often that good news stories of exemplary care get showcased in the national media. However, the team at Croagh Patrick Care Home in Donaghadee have been awarded two accolades for their care and kindness.
The team were nominated by two families of residents in their care. Their nominations read:
“My mother was a resident in Croagh Patrick for 9 months, and the level of care she received was excellent, from Nurses, to Care staff, Kitchen, Office and Manager. Everyone was so helpful and went beyond the call of duty. They helped make my mum’s last days as comfortable and pleasant as possible”.
“My mum was a resident for 6 months before she passed away. All staff looked after my mum with dignity and care. They also looked after us as a family and we were always made welcome. Staff really couldn’t do enough for mum and ourselves and I can’t speak highly enough of the staff and they certainly deserve this award”.
These kind words were read out by Regional Manager Alana Irvine, who along with the families were invited to a celebratory afternoon tea at the Donaghadee home.
Alana Irvine said: “The team here at Croagh Patrick are very deserving of these two awards. Their dedication is outstanding, and they’re committed every day to ensuring the residents care and well-being is at the heart of everything they do. I want to thank the two families for taking the time to come in and present the awards to the team. I’m very proud of the team here at Croagh Patrick.”
A ROCK award is a nationwide honour that specifically highlights the impact a Four Season Health Care employee has made on the lives of people living in one of their care homes. An internal prize, staff are nominated for an award by either residents, their relatives or friends, who have witnessed or experienced staff members demonstrating excellent standards of care and kindness in their role.
