Dove Court celebrates World Animal Day with a selection of critters

Everyone let their inner animal take over in Dove Court Care Home in Kettering as residents, their guests and the care team celebrated World Animal Day.

World Animal Day is celebrated on Tuesday 4th October each year and aims to raise the status of animals to improve their welfare standards around the globe, making the world a better place for animals.

The team helped everyone get in the mood to embrace their love for animals by dressing up as a variety of animals from across the globe. The home then welcomed Zoo Lab and their variety of critters in for everyone to get to know. After all, it is proven that animals can have a soothing effect.

Wendy Fall, Home Manager, said: “Everyone had a great day. The residents enjoyed getting up close and personal with the creatures that Zoo Lab brought in, which included: Giant African Snails, Millipedes, Rats, a Madagascan Hissing Cockroach and a variety of snakes. Our residents enjoyed getting hands on with the creatures even if some of the care team were a little hesitant.”
