On Wednesday 1st June 2016, Flower Park Care Home in Doncaster unveiled the grand opening of their ‘Bluebell Intermediate Care Unit.
Amanda Searle, Home Manager, said: “We were pleased to unveil this unit today as it adds something extra to our home. The intermediate care unit will enable the team here at Flower Park to provide alternative care to rehabilitate people as opposed to them going into hospital for an unnecessary stay.”
The event also shone a light on Care Assistant Karen Lewis who has recently qualified as a Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP).
Jean Davison, Business Development Manager for England East, said: “Everyone at Flower Park is proud of Karen who has worked hard to complete this programme. I was extremely proud to be able to present her with her certificate and watch in recognition of her achievement. I’m sure everyone is looking forward to her using her new skills. Well done Karen!”
Amanda Searle added: “Congratulations to Karen. I also want to say a big thank you to our nurse here at Flower Park who helped to mentor Karen through the process.”
A CHAP can help fulfil some nursing duties such as medication rounds, freeing the nurse up to deal with more complex issues.
