Fruity Friday follows Beech Tree House's street party for Queen's birthday celebrations

Residents at Beech Tree House in Goole have been getting up to all sorts recently.

The Goole based home, held an indoor street party to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Margaret Allsop, Home Manager, said: “Our residents really enjoyed the party thrown in the Queen’s honour. We even had our own Queen for the day, as Isabel, one of our residents, donned her best attire and dressed as Her Majesty. Not content with being outdone, the team also decided to dress up, or should I say dress down in nightwear, head scarfs and slippers. It certainly was a sight to behold.”

The day after the street party, the home thought it would be a fantastic idea to have a healthy day after over indulging with the party food.

Margaret Allsop explained: “We had our own fruity Friday. We made lots of fresh fruit smoothies and snacked on freshly chopped fruit. However, it seemed a few people may have been having sugar withdrawels so we did a little bit of baking in the afternoon. The cakes had fruit in them though, so they were still kind of healthy. Right?”
