Alix Beerenbrock, Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP) at Red Rose Care Home in Garden City has been crowned Care Home Assistant Practitioner of the Year at the first Four Season’s Care Awards.
The award Alix has won commends her for the way she has supported the Registered Nurses in her home, enabling them to meet a range of clinical needs to enhance her residents’ experiences.
Following over 1,200 nominations, Alix was shortlisted with four other colleagues from over 300 Four Season’s Care Homes across the UK.
Louise Cherry, People Director for Four Seasons Health Care, presented Alix with this award said: “This is still a relatively new position for the company, and the standard of individuals that we have in this role is phenomenal. The decision was a hard one, but for me and the other judges, Alix stood out to us, as her commitment to her residents is second to none. The support she gives to the nurses in her home cannot be put into words. Congratulations Alix.”
Kerrie Davies, Home Manager for Red Rose Care Home said: “Alix is a fantastic asset to everyone here at Red Rose. She graduated as a CHAP in February of this year, and since then she has pioneered the programme within the home. She has gone above and beyond her role in supporting the nurses and the home’s central team, gaining new skills quickly and putting them into practice. Well done Alix, you’re very deserving of this award.”
On receiving the award, Alix said: “I was over the moon when I found out I was nominated. It means so much to me. It means I must be doing something right. I am extremely happy that I’d won the award, but I want to take it on behalf of all the CHAPs out there who are going that extra mile to make a difference not only to our residents’ lives but also the wider care team.”
