Mauro Magbitang, Home Manager at Holywood Care Home in Belfast has been crowned ‘Specialist Services Champion’ at the first Four Season’s Care Awards.
The award Mauro has won commends him for championing a diverse range of services and are dedicated to the people he cares for.
Following over 1,200 nominations, Mauro was shortlisted with five other colleagues from over 300 Four Season’s Care Homes across the UK.
Richard Hardman, Head of Service Development for Four Seasons Health Care, presented Mauro with this award said: “Providing good quality care is something that we strive to do. But in a world where care needs are so diverse, specialisms need to be introduced. Mauro did just that at Holywood and I and the other judges are very privileged to present this award to him. Well done Mauro.”
Alana Irvine, Regional Manager for Four Seasons Health Care Strangford Lough and South East, said: “Developing a new service can be very challenging but Mauro has never faltered in his drive to make the transition from long stay hospital wards to a community setting a success. I echo that his commitment and drive make him a force to be reckoned with. Well done Mauro, you are indeed a worthy winner.”
On receiving the award, Mauro said: “I was over the moon when I found out I was nominated. It means so much to me. It means I must be doing something right. I am completely shocked and humbled to have won. I feel no different to anyone else, not special in any way, but I am privileged to be highly thought of by my colleagues.”
