The residents at Church and Manor View Care Home in Doncaster have had tonnes of fun recently with various activities to get involved in, visitors coming in to talk with them, and award ceremonies to celebrate the hard work of the team.
Not long ago they were visited by the local Gideons group who work closely with the Christian church in spreading the word of God. They came to the home to talk with residents about the New Testament and gave those who wanted one a copy for themselves. Everyone found them extremely interesting and started sharing their stories with the visitors.
The Gideons haven’t been the only visitors to grace the presence of Church and Manor View – they have also been lucky enough to be visited by a local pet store who brought some little furry and slimey friends in for the residents to cuddle and hold.
The team also decided to celebrate Chinese New Year in style by providing a Chinese tasting meal for everyone to try. The team dressed in traditional Chinese dress to give the residents a bit of entertainment.
Amongst all of this, there has also been a Long Service Awards presentation for various team members who have worked at the care home for a substantial amount of time.
Julie Harrison, Care Home Manager, told us “it’s been a fun couple of weeks for us here at Church and Manor View and we have a lot more planned over the next few weeks. The pet store was definitely a favourite for everyone – the residents loved having cuddles with the animals”.
