Back in 1996, the seaside town of Kirkcaldy was recovering due to the harbour being closed four years earlier. However, the town did welcome with open arms Gowrie House Care Home, to cater to the local community’s needs.
Fast forward 20 years. On Thursday 31st March Gowrie House threw the biggest party in the home’s history, marking its 20th birthday.
Anjie Restar, Home Manager said: “This beautiful home may have been here for 20 years, but it certainly doesn’t look or feel like it. Gowrie House has played an integral part in the local community, and this was emphasised in the number of people who attended. The Kirkcaldy Member of Scottish Parliament David Torrence joined in the celebrations.
“Everyone had a lovely day and I’m hoping we can hold an even bigger celebration in another 20 years’ time.”
Mike Shea, Regional Manager said: “I was delighted to attend the party at Gowrie House. The team work extremely hard enabling residents to enjoy as much independence as possible in a safe and secure environment. This is reflected in the fact that 99% of residents are satisfied with every aspect of the home.
“I’m very proud of Gowrie House, and I’m happy to have been a part of the celebrations.”
