Haddon House Care Home in Ilkeston took a step back in time on Friday 17th June, as the team embraced Care Home Open Day by dressing up in years gone by.
Helen Baston, Home Manager, said: “Everyone likes to dress up, and this year we decided to dress up in Victorian clothes and help our residents and guest reminisce about the golden ages. The event itself was a great success, with visitors coming into the home to have a cup of tea and a chat to the residents, as well as seeing what services Haddon House has to offer. I look forward to next year’s event.”
Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities. Events like the one at Haddon House Care Home will help to create lasting links between the residents and their local community.
Care Home Open Day is all about showing people what care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of the local community, developing relationships across the generations.
