Hallgarth Care Home in Durham celebrated International Joke Day on Friday 1st July in true comedic style.
The home welcomed special guest, comedian and singer Colin Summer. Colin lead the afternoon with a song followed by a joke or a very tall story from his special collection which he had gathered over his long and varied career on the stage.
Colin turned the spotlight onto the residents and the team at Hallgarth when he held an open mic ‘make us laugh’ spot during his gig. This meant that anyone in the home could share their jokes.
Angela Muir, Home Manager, said: “We had a mixture of jokes during the open mic slot. Some were a little risky and some were down right terrible! But the afternoon was played and taken light heartedly, with everyone having a right old giggle.”
