The theme for Care Home Open Day this year was one of celebration. Homes across the United Kingdom could interpret that brief any way they wanted.
The team at Lea Green Court Care Home in Newcastle Upon Tyne, decided they would celebrate some of the team’s successes as part of the event.
Helen Langley, Home Manager, explains: “We held a lovely little celebratory party which residents had asked for as a way to celebrate the teams achievements. The residents all said a big thank you, for the service provided by the team, with some even going as far as saying the team were like an extended member of their family.
“At the event we also celebrated three team members long service to the company, between the three of them they have 45 years’ experience in the care sector. We also awarded Teresa Ajayi with a ROCK (Recognition of Care and Kindness Award) for going above and beyond the call of duty for the residents. Well done guys!”
The team members who received Long Service Awards were:
- Gloria Taylor - 19 years' service
- Kevin Osborne - 15 years' service
- Colin Jordan - 11 years' service
