It’s not every day you get to see Darth Vader and a Storm Trooper on a motorcycle. However, that as so much more entertained the residents at Ladymead Care Home in Swindon.
KC Byju Vasudevan, Home Manager, explained: “When people think of care homes, they tend to have the mental image that their loved ones are left to their own devices day in day out. That’s not the case at Four Seasons, and certainly not at Ladymead.
“We like to provide special resident experiences for the people who live in our home. A number of the residents had mentioned the Wroughton Carnival, and we noticed its route went straight past Ladymead. We got all the residents ready and took them outside to prepare for the show. Once outside everyone had an ice cream and watched the floats as they went by.”
The floats this year featured the Men in Black fighting aliens, Minions (including King Bob) and of course the notorious Darth Vadar and his trusty Storm Trooper.
KC Byju Vasudevan added: “Everyone had a lovely time. Some of the Minions even came over and told some stories to our residents.”
