On Saturday 3rd September 2016, Laurels Lodge Care Home in Woodside held their annual Summer Gala.
Residents, relatives, the care team and local community all enjoyed the sunshine in the garden whilst making the most of the activities available to them.
There was a bric-a-brac stall, home-made cake stall alongside the BBQ which was very popular with everyone who attended.
Sheila Gesma, Home Manager, said: “Everyone had a lovely afternoon. The bottle stall was a huge hit, helping us to sell every single raffle ticket in the home. We managed to raise £678 for our resident’s fund which will help us to provide special experiences for the residents in our care.
“I would like to say a big thank you to all of the team and friends who volunteered to help at the event. I also want to thank all of the relatives and neighbours who donated the items for the raffle prizes and the bottle stall, not forgetting the delicious homemade cakes. I want to thank SHMU FM for helping us to advertise the day. Everyone here at Laurels Lodge is very grateful for the fantastic support we received from the relatives and local community. I can’t wait for next year’s event.”
