Laurels Lodge Care Home in Woodside, held a right royal birthday party as part of their Care Home Open Day celebration.
The home was covered in red, white and blue, as the street party event took full swing. Music was provided by local entertainer Norman McDonald who got everyone at the home up on their feet.
Linda Mason, Deputy Home Manager, said: “Although the weather wasn’t brilliant, everyone still enjoyed our royal street party. There was a huge turnout and it was nice to see everyone having fun. The BBQ was a huge hit, there wasn’t much food left at the end of the event.
“I want to thank everyone for coming. We can’t wait for next year’s event.”
Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities. Events like the one at Laurels Lodge Care Home will help to create lasting links between the residents and their local community.
Care Home Open Day is all about showing people what care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of the local community, developing relationships across the generations.
