On Friday 22nd July, residents and the team at Layden Court Care Home in Maltby, bid a fond farewell to Student Nurse Kay.
For the last 6 weeks Kay has been working in Layden Court full-time, learning and practicing lots of new skills in preparation for when she qualifies as a Registered Nurse.
All the team and visiting professionals have really taken to Kay and we hope she will return to Layden Court once she has qualified.
Jenny Hololob, Home Manager stated: “Kay immediately became one of the team. I hope she has gained some valuable experience, skills and memories which help her with her nursing career. I have had lots of positive feedback from everyone involved in her studies here at Layden Court and even the local GP enjoyed her assistance on his weekly visits to the home. She has been fabulous and I hope she returns to our home as soon as she has qualified. Everyone here at Layden Court are so pleased and proud and want to congratulate Kay on passing her first year! ”
Diane Barnes, Deputy Home Manager added: “Kay is our first student from Sheffield Hallam University. Her experience here has enabled her to successfully complete her first year. We can tell that she has thoroughly enjoyed her experience within our team and we have all loved having her here. We’ve all found it so rewarding helping Kay to succeed and we look forward to meeting our second student nurse in the next few weeks. Hopefully we can make her experience a positive one as well.”
