Life - a poem by K Crozier

Below is a poem written by Home Manager Kirst Crozier from East Ridings Care Home in Morpeth to celebrate World Poetry Day.

Life

Life can be hard and can drag you down
I pick myself up with the girls on the town

We laugh and joke, sharing our tales
At the end of the night I feel back on the rails

Our friends and family keep us going
From living a life of toing and froing

They keep us grounded when we are up a height
A simple cuddle helps us regain our fight

When life is hard, don’t be dragged down
Put on a smile, try not to frown

Have a whinge and a cuddle, tell your worries to "jog on"
For in a single heartbeat, your life can be gone.
