Local boy’s school help dementia residents feel the beat

Residents on the dementia unit at Marlborough Court Care Home in Thameside got ‘down with the kids’ during dementia awareness week.

Hayley Mercer, Personal Activities Leader, said: “Students from Woolwich Polytechnic for Boys visited residents on our dementia unit. After speaking to the residents the students decided to pop on some music and show our residents some of their moves. After seeing what the students could do, it was the residents turn to bust a move.

“Everyone had a great time and the students left with a better understanding of dementia.”
