Four members of the team at Meadowvale Care Home in Bathgate have successfully completed their Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ) Level 2.
SVQs are based on national standards which are drawn up by people from industry, commerce and education. They are badges or benchmarks of competence, so they work as a guarantee that someone who holds an SVQ can do the job the qualification covers.
Joanne Fleming, Patsy Murray, Claire Watson and Claire White – all Care Assistants at the home – were guided through the process by Emma Keelan from the Learning and Development Team.
Michael Doolin, Resident Experience Regional Manager for Scotland, said: “I want to congratulate these four ladies on all of their hard work. Employers are very aware of SVQs and appreciate their value. Here at Four Seasons we’d always encourage and our teams to do all they can to up skill themselves and we’d support them through the process.”
Yvonne Graham, Home Manager, said: “I’m very proud of the four ladies. They’ve worked really hard and thoroughly deserve this recognition. The skills they’ve learnt will further enhance the care they give to the residents here at Meadowvale, which from what I can see is an added bonus, as the team here are already doing a fantastic job.”
