As the new series of Great British Bake Off started, the team at Morecambe Bay Care Home in Broadway wanted to do their very own 'bake off'.
They arranged a coffee morning and for all the team to bring in their home bakes and compete against each other to be crowned 'Star Baker', judged by two of the residents. To add to the fun, they made the day a 1950s theme and even had their very own Sandy from Grease make an appearance. The home managed to raise £360 for the residents activity fund.
Sharon Quinn, Personal Activities Leader, told us: "We had a great time at our 1950s style bake sale and raised a fantastic amount of money for our residents fund - they are already deciding how they'd like to spend it! The day was extra special as our Chef, Russel, is sadly leaving us so it was a nice send off for him too."
