Below is a poem written by Pat Horlor a resident at Bishopsmead Lodge Care Home in Bristol to celebrate World Poetry Day.
My name is Pat
My name is Pat,
I used to live in a flat.
At the age of eighty eight,
My legs no longer take my weight.
Bishopsmead Lodge is now my home,
As I can no longer live alone.
My husband passed 35 years ago,
So it was a lonely life I know.
So know among friends I live my life,
Without the stress of trouble and strife.
I hope to last a few years more,
So god help you all for what's in store.
