Residents from Hallgarth Care Home in Durham are often treated to mystery tours which see them visiting sights far and wide.
The latest stop? Well I’ll let the resident’s tell you that, as they wrote a poem regarding their latest trip…
Off we go on a mystery tour,
Destination? We’re not very sure.
To the park, to the river or down to the sea,
We always stop off for a nice cup of tea.
To castles, to monuments, to statues we go,
To learn of their history and share knowledge we know.
Today off to Penshaw our journey did take,
We fed geese and swans and watched boats on the lake.
From our viewpoint we saw the lay of the land,
And I held the monument in the palm of my hand.
The lucky resident to hold the monument in their hand was Mrs Joan Grayson who remarked that she thought the monument would be heavier.
