Remembrance Day is a time to remember and pay your respects to those who and fought for Queen and country in numerous wars spanning the decades.
In Carlisle, residents from Pennine Lodge Care Home knitted and crocheted poppies for people to wear in memory of the servicemen and women.
Debbie Seaton, Home Manager, said: “Our residents wanted to do something special to mark Remembrance Day. We linked up with the Co-Op Funeral directors and they helped us to sell the poppies with the proceeds going to veterans. It was lovely to see our residents helping a cause that’s close to their hearts.”
