Residents were treated to a surprise last week, when the team turned up for work, ready for bed.
Instead of turning up for work in their usual uniforms, the team at South Park Care Home in York, decided to wear their pyjamas – and other nightwear – to the home.
Joanne Fisher, Home Manager said: “Everyone had a lot of fun on PJ day. One of the team came in her Minnie Mouse onesie, complete with its own tail, which entertained the residents immensely. PJ day saw us do something a little different to brighten up the residents’ day.”
Once the team were back in their normal uniform, they welcomed a new and now regular visitor to the home. The vicar from the local church is going to drop in once a month to hold an afternoon session of hymns and prayers.
“It was a lovely afternoon with the vicar, and residents and their relatives all commented on how lovely the session was,” added Joanne Fisher.
To finish the week off, residents and their relatives were treated to an afternoon of singing and dancing when they welcomed singers from the local hospital. A fabulous time was had by all.
