Residents at Manor View Care Home enjoy excursions

Moving into a care home, some people may think that means they’ll lose their independence. At Four Seasons we ensure that residents retain their independence, and provide activities to help them do this.

At Manor View Care Home in Doncaster, residents have enjoyed a trip out to the local wildlife park to see the exotic – and not so exotic – creatures there.

Two residents also ventured out to indulge in some of their favourite past times.

Julie Harrison, Home Manager, explains: “Geoff took one of our care assistants to the Green Tree Café, one of Geoff’s favourite jaunts, for a spot of breakfast. Geoff enjoyed the café’s famous full English breakfast and had a lovely chat with his breakfast partner in crime.

“Another resident, who has a keen interest in gardening went to B&Q with our maintenance man. Alan enjoyed his trip out, and certainly has an eye for plants. When they came back, Alan and a number of residents planted the flowers in our garden, brightening it up for the upcoming summer months.

“Here at Manor View we get to know the residents and cater for their need on a one to one basis. There are more excursions planned based on their likes and dislikes so watch this space.”
