The residents at Ty Gwynno Care Home in Pontypridd wanted to personally wish Her Majesty a very Happy 90th birthday.
So they all got together and made a birthday card for her, which they duly sent off to Buckingham Palace.
Janina Poulter, Home Manager, explained: “A lot of our residents here at Ty Gwynno are royalists, and love anything to do with the Royal Family. They all enjoyed working together to create the homemade birthday card for her Majesty.”
At the beginning of June, the home received a royal letter, something they were not expecting.
Janina Poulter added: “The residents received a thank you letter from the Queen’s Lady in Waiting. They were all really excited with this letter as they weren’t expecting anything back. It was a pleasure to see the excitement on their faces when we read the letter to them.”
The letter read:
“The Queen wishes me to thank you all for the lovely card you have made and sent to her Majesty on the occasion of her 90th birthday.
“The Queen sends her best wishes to all at Ty Gwynno Care Home and I am to thank you, very much, for your thought for her Majesty at this time.”
